Abstract

A description is given of a new facility processing blast furnace slag into a high quality cementitious material to be used as an ingredient in concrete for general construction purposes. A brief history of the process is given, followed by a detailed discussion of the water granulation system and the methods used to transport and dewater the granulate. Environmental advantages of handling slag away from the blast furnace by water granulation are included.
