In this research work, a process was described for the recovery of copper and zinc in copper converter flue dust from the Black Sea Copper Works' Samsun Smelter Plant. After characterization of a representative flue dust sample, the process included roasting of the flue dust and then leaching in dilute sulfuric acid solution. Roasting time and temperature were studied to determine the optimum roasting conditions. Sulphuric acid concentration, duration, temperature of leaching and solid to liquid ratio were the parameters studied in the bench scale laboratory leaching experiments.

"Those who submit competing proposals for projects seek to present senior management with complete and fully supported material that will not fail under questioning. Hopefully, misleading notions and omissions will have been minimized and there will have been testing of the assumptions regarding the economic, social and political environments.A capital project evaluation team can do management and itself a service by including a sound approach to the impact of inflation (and its twin problem, interest) on a project and a great disservice with an inappropriate approach to inflation.InflationHandled deftly, inflation can alter a project evaluation to show almost any result the handler desires. It must be a constant source of frustration for design people and cost estimators to spend weeks perfecting the technical aspects of a project in order to minimize costs, only to have all of their efforts set awash in a sea of financial and economic assumptions that submerge all of the detail. In all of this, inflation is perhaps the largest offender, with inflation criteria often being brought to bear at the last minute, almost as an afterthought. Perhaps this tardiness reflects the difficulty of the subject and the belief that senior management will take its own approach to the problems of inflation. Such a belief is unfair to senior management, for it is entitled to not being misled by omission. It is entitled to the full use of the skills of the evaluating team, including reasonable assumptions of the impact of inflation.Working in a consulting context, one has the opportunity to participate in the evaluation of a large number of projects."

"The present study investigated the texture transition during secondary recrystallization in the AA5182 sheet. During the initial stage of annealing, the texture showed a weak Cube orientation as the primary recrystallization texture. During the secondary recrystallization with abnormal grain growth, the area ratio of the {hkl} <011> orientations increased by consuming the other orientations. The texture transition was calculated by the 2-D Monte Carlo simulation with the misorientation dependency. When the higher grain boundary mobility was set in the specific range of the high angle misorientation, the orientation preferential growth of the RW {100} <011> orientation was reproduced. However, other {hkl} <110> orientations could not be well reproduced by the misorientation dependency.INTRODUCTION Crystal orientation and texture are important factors for aluminum sheet products from the standpoint of mechanical property, formability and isotropy. The recrystallization texture results from the orientation preferential growth from the rolling deformation microstructure and the texture (Alvi, Cheong, Suni, Weiland, & Rollett, 2008). Texture development has been a topic of intense research for decades with advances in analysis methods, e.g., orientation mapping (OIM) and computer simulations (Fjeldberg & Marthinsen, 2010; Ivasishin, Shevchenko, Vasiliev, & Semiatin, 2006). The grain boundary characteristic is considered to be a key for the orientation preferential growth. In the case of the recrystallization from the deformed microstructure, not only the grain boundary characteristic, but also the dislocation density and the subgrain size affect the nucleation and the grain growth (Engler, Löchte, & Hirsch, 2007). On the other hand, in the case of secondary recrystallization, the dislocation density and the subgrain size can be ignored and the effect of the grain boundary characteristic can play a significant role in the grain growth. There is intense research about the texture development during secondary recrystallization in aluminum alloys and it was reported that coarse {hkl} <011> grains were formed during the secondary recrystallization (Suk, Shin, & Huh, 2006; Rios, & Gottstein, 2001). However, the mechanism of forming the {hkl} <011> grains has not been fully clarified. In the present study, the effect of the grain boundary characteristic on the orientation preferential growth was investigated by EBSD analysis and Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation."

"Midwest Joint Venture (MJV) owns a high-grade uranium deposit in northern Saskatchewan. The deposit is located too deep below surface to be mined economically by open pit methods, and as a consequence, present plans are that it will be mined by underground methods. High-grade uranium ore of the type at MJV, encased in weak, highly altered ground and with radon-rich water inflows, has not before been mined by underground methods.The test mining phase of the project, completed in 1989, had three objectives: 1. to evaluate radiation protection requirements associated with the handling of large quantities of radon-rich water and mining highgrade uranium ore in an underground environment; 2. to investigate the quantity and quality of water inflows into the mine; and 3. to investigate ground conditions in and around the ore zone as an aid in determining the production mining method to be used.With information gained from the test mining project, a mining method for the production mine has been devised. Level plans have been drawn up, ventilation system designed, pumping arrangements made and methods of ore handling considered. All this is to be done in a manner that will be safe for those doing the work underground. Some of the mining methods planned are felt to be unique in that they are designed to cope with mining problems not known to have been encountered before. New problems underground have required new methods to handle them. Remote drilling, blasting, mucking and backfilling form the basis of the planned mining method."

"Three main potash members are recognized within the Prairie Evaporite Formation of Saskatchewan and have been designated, in ascending order, the Esterhazy, Belle Plaine and Patience Lake members. Each is composed of sylvinite near the geographic center of the member and becomes increasingly carnallitic marginally. Each stratigraphically higher member has a narrower carnallitic margin. The sharp contact between carnallitic and non-carnallitic components of the formation describes a surface which may be traced regionally and is not related to bed-ding. The contact rises higher in the stratigraphic section toward margins of members. Within each of the three members, analyses indicate that carnallite becomes more abundant toward the north whereas sylvite and insolubles, increase toward the south. Within each member, areas rich in carnallite are coincident with areas in which the member as a whole is thicker than averag,e. The Belle Plaine Member contains the highest concentrations of carnallite, the Esterhazy the lowest. A maximum content of about 30 per cent sylvite is common to all three members. Insoluble contents increase in successively higher members.Map studies are combined to outline the economic potential of the potash beds in terms of depth to the top of the Prairie Evaporite, ""salt-back"" thicknesses and sylvite grades for each member."

"The current state of knowledge concerning pipeline transport of coal in water slurry form is summarized for the four categories: coal-water fuels, conventional fine coal slurries, coarse coals and stabilized mixtures of coarse and fine particles. Surface chemistry is of dominant importance for coal-water fuels and considerable progress in understanding the role of surfactants has been achieved in recent years. Little generalized research on the flow of conventional fine coal slurries has been done in the past 17years, although innumerable conceptual designs and feasibility studies have been undertaken. Coarse coal slurries are fairly well understood but the model which explains their flow requires more data to be established fully. Stabilized flow mixtures should probably obey the same model as coarse coal slurries but experimental results for stabilized mixtures have not yet been incorporated in a comprehensive theory.IntroductionPipeline transportation of coal in a water vehicle has been employed for many years in coal washeries. It has been used less frequently in hydraulic mining and thermal power station fuel supply systems. The suitability of coal for pipeline transport arises from its moderate specific gravity relative to the carrier fluid and the fact that throughputs are often large and steady over long periods of time."

Introduction Sturgeon River area, on the east side of lake Nipigon, Ontario, was the scene of a gold rush in 1934. According to press reports, the active staking during the latter part of the summer spread out rapidly from the early holdings until it embraced practically all of the lower basin of Sturgeon river in a belt up to ten miles wide extending west from Kinghorn for 35 miles to lake Nipigon. And, before winter set in, active prospecting and claim staking reached beyond lake Nipigon to areas where belts of ancient schists were known, notably west of Obonga lake. The writer&apos;s familiarity in past years with the areas to which attention has been directed admits of some observations on means of access in the field, the general geology, and the progress that has been made in identifying formations favourable for the occurrence of gold. Canoe Routes From the writer&apos;s observations in Sturgeon River area in 1917 and in the Obonga Lake area in 1933, it is recalled that there is, locally, a striking dif~ ference in the accessibility of the two areas by travel along canoe routes. Sturgeon River area is easily accessible from Kinghorn or Jellicoe stations on the Canadian National railways. Many small lakes, commonly of the linear type and with elongations east and west, occur among the forested rocky ridges near Jellicoe (Figure 1) and to the east and west along, or adjacent to, Sturgeon river. This stream has long stretches with gentle current between the falls and rapids. The drainage system provides excellent canoe routes (Figure 2), and the interruptions to travel (Figure 3) are remembered .as scenic features that were passed by portages with firm footing. West of Obonga lake, the streams flowing easterly to lake Nipigon may be followed through scenic canyons to a plateau of law relief characterized by extensive muskegs and shallow, brown-water lakes; and along small streams, where beaver dams have been destroyed, there are muck ponds where the usual alternatives of paddling or portaging can be dismissed in favour of the &apos;moosing&apos; method of progress with the canoe (Figure 4).

"The gold mines of Kirkland Lake are in Teck township, Timiskaming district, Ontario, latitude 48°9'N. and longitude 80°3'W., at an elevation of 1,038 feet above sea-level.There are seven contiguous producing mines in a length of 3;1/2 miles along the general east-west strike of the deposits. The seven mines are, in order from west to east, Macassa, Kirkland Lake, Teck-Hughes, Lake Shore, Wright-Hargreaves, Sylvanite, and Toburn.The first discovery of gold in the zone was made by W. H. Wright in 1911 on the east claim of the Wright-Hargreaves property, and the following year the Tough brothers and H. Oakes found gold in what is now the No. 1 vein_ at the Toburn. Production began at the Toburn in 1915, followed by Teck-Hughes in 1917, Lake Shore in 1918, Kirkland Lake Gold in 1919, Wright-Hargreaves in 1921, Sylvanite in 1927, and Macassa in 1933.To the end of 1946, 31,938,350 tons of ore had been milled at the Kirkland Lake mines, from which 16,132,700 oz. gold, having a value of $498,517,600, were recovered. The bullion varies from mine to mine between 800 and 900 fine, the average for all the mines being 853. "Introduction Background The Frobisher voyages of 1577 and 1578 were organized by the Cathay Company for the express purpose of finding and mining gold ore. Since publication of the Baffm expedition of Charles Francis Hallill, the location of Kodlunarn or Countess of Warwick Island, the headquarters of Frobisher&apos;s third (1578) voyage, and focal point of the largest Arctic voyage of all time, has been known to the world. Through Hall we also know the location of the Countess of Warwick Mine on Kodlunarn Island. However, the exact locations of the other mines are not known. Of the ""ore"" we know little. Pieces of the original ""black stone"", once as large as ""a half-penny loaf&apos; have now disappeared altogether. Specimens collected at random from the repository of shipments in England and from loose rock on Kodlunarn Island were termed, respectively, ""hornblende pyroxenite"" and ""amphibolite"" and from a locale about 200 yards from Kodlunarn as (hornblende) ""pyroxenite""121. However, it is uncertain whether these specimens are representative of Kodlunarn or of the other mines, although Blackadar131 notes that, in the northern trench of Kodlunarn, biotite gneiss contains lenses and bands of amphibolite. The ""gold"" itself is even less well defined. It has long been accepted that gold was virtually absent in Frobisher&apos;s ore. The ""gold"" has been termed pyrite, biotite and both biotite and pyrite together. Even t h e word "" marquesset"" , which appears and reappears in contemporary descriptions, is nebulous and is defined as ""a stone participating in the nature of some metal, yet in so small quantity, that the metal cannot be melted from it"" (0.E.D., definition of 1616)."

"New terrain maps provide information on the ground conditions in northern Ontario. This information has a relevance to mineral exploration because it assists the user in determining ground conditions prior to entering the area. The prospector, geologist, geophysicist and geochemist can then plan for the optimum use of exploration techniques best suited for theseground conditions.These terrain maps are the result of the Northern Ontario Engineering Geology Terrain Study-a program carried out by five consultants under contract to the Ontario Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources. The area mapped is 370,000 km2 and more than 100 basic data maps at a1:100,000 scale will be published.An unique terrain legend was derived to facilitate the mapping and it allows the derivation of specific user information. Examples of some of these uses are described. Introduction""Where did all the boulders come from Charlie?"", asked the student, as the prospector and his young assistant clambered through the bush. "" Why son, they were brought down here by the glacier"", the prospector replied. ""But where is the glacier now Charlie? "", persisted the young man. ""Gone back up north for more boulders son!""An old story, but one that illustrates the importance of overburden to the prospector. The use of overburden as a prospecting technique is not new. In fact, the principles have been known in the western world for at least 235 years (Shilts 1976). More recently, Dreimanis&apos;s classic work on boulder tracing (1957) and Lee&apos;s work (1971) emphasize the role of glacial geology in prospecting. In addition, papers by Smee and Sinha (1979), Averill (1978), Bereton (1978), and Gleeson and Hornbrook (1974) all describe the importance of drift in mineral exploration programs. The discovery of the copper deposit in the northern Ontario township of Currie (Thompson, 1979) is attributed in part to till prospecting methods. So the significance of the overburden is firmly established, both in the literature and in the minds of today&apos;s prospectors, geologists, geophysicists and geochemists."

Recovery of vanadium from LD (Linz-Donawits) converter slag was evaluated by means of microbial leaching. Vanadium leaching was performed in two stages. In the first stage, the bacteria were grown in a culture medium and in the second stage; vanadium containing slag was added to the metabolites produced by bacteria. Bioleaching was performed using heterotrophic bacteria Pseudomonas Putída. Control tests without bacteria inoculation were also performed and the results were compared with bioleaching outcomes. Optimal conditions for the bioleaching of vanadium containing slag were determined.

"Tailings Engineering has the responsibility for planning and coordinating tailings disposal and for ensuring the stability of the tailings dyke. The inclusion of both the planning and geotechnical functions in one team has resulted in greater efficiency in the design and planning process. Major challenges in tailings disposal facing Syncrude are in the areas of: (1) sludge disposal; (2) instrumentation and monitoring; and (3) liquefaction. "The need to make repairs is seldom a major consideration in the design, fabrication and installation of major components of electrical generation plants. Repair welding, however, is a fact of life in the electrical generation industry, for restoration of degradation in service, from cavitation of hydraulic turbine runners, to corrosion and fatigue damage in pressure vessels. In making weld repairs to carbon and low-alloy steels, the largest source of trouble is hydrogen embrittlement and related post-weld cracking. Various strategies have been developed to control problems from this source, including post-weld heat treatment, the use of nickel-base alloy filler metals and the temper bead welding technique. Each of these basic strategies is being applied as circumstances require; each strategy must, however, be implemented in a manner that reconciles weldment structure and hardness, degree of restraint and service environment with the consequences of unsatisfactory performance of the repaired component.IntroductionMajor working components of electric generating plants are specified and installed on the basis that, wherever technically and economically feasible, they will retain functional capacity without major repairs for the twenty-five-plus years of normal plant lifetime. Nevertheless, repairs are often required, and welding is usually an essential feature of the work. Remedial welding may be performed to correct design or fabrication errors which become evident only at the time of component installation. The most common causes of requirements for repair involve corrosion, fatigue or related processes which prove more aggressive than expected during service. Increasingly, our planning for future repair requirements is related to continual improvements which are occurring in nondestructive evaluation technology. As components are periodically reinspected during their service life, fabrication induced defects may be revealed for the first time quite late in the life of the component. When this occurs, repair must be considered wherever inaccessibility of a flaw makes it impossible to prove its inactivity. Finally, there are certain components, for instance in hydraulic turbines, which cannot be economically made or used without the expectation of service induced wear. Here, periodic maintenance welding must be regarded as a normal event."

"The article describes the analysis of methods and criteria of selectivity of optimal ore preparation schemes. Traditional criteria based on study of physical-mechanical properties of ores give the comparison of obtained figures with a reference standard or statistic data and the selection of the ore preparation scheme is made on a basis of a similar scheme from the existing production.Further on estimation is given to different criteria of the crushing selectivity, the new criterion is offered, the definition of which is done by results of an optical microscopy– the estimation of a valuable mineral release degree. The final estimation of the crushing process selectivity L? is performed by a calculation of a ratio of the valuable mineral free grains quantity in a desired size grade of a crushed material to the valuable mineral free grains quantity in a desired size grade of a raw product.Besides, optimality assessment of using the specific crushing unit is preliminary performed according to a maximum crushing degree of a material, however, the priority is given to the maximum selectivity criterion. The check of the proposed criterion was done when comparing the crushing of niobium bearing ores of the Vishnevogorskoye deposit in cone inertial and centrifugal impact crushers. Different operation modes of crushers were also checked. The comparison of the crushing selectivity criterion L? showed that the centrifugal impact crusher (CC) has the value of the selectivity criterion lower than the cone inertial crusher (CIC). For the crusher CC the criterion L? is 0.82 – 0.87 units, whereas for the crusher CIC – 1.43-1.755 units. The best crushing mode for the crusher CIC-300? is as follows: turning angle of debalance is 120°, peripheral speed of a cone rotation – 1,420 rpm, specific energy consumption – 6.99 kW?t/t.INTRODUCTIONIt has been shown that the most efficient techniques of mineral raw materials disintegration are selective crushing enabling to produce liberation of particles at maximum use of destruction techniques by borders of minerals cleavage. These days, such techniques are usually called special disintegration techniques (Jankovic & Valery, 2015), and they are used in 3–4 crushing stages. The selection of optimal crushing techniques is performed based on the following main parameters:- degrees of crushing, calculated based on granulometric features of raw and crushed products;- selectivity criterion defined according to useful mineral release and slime ability degree; and- traditional criteria (Gazaleeva et al., 2015) of choice based on study of physical-mechanicalproperties of ores gives the comparison of obtained figures with a reference standard or statistic data and the selection of the ore preparation scheme is made on a basis of a similar scheme from the existing production."

'It will be emphasized that these correction values are probably not applicable to other materials, or the same material of different size composition. "Frozen tailings material may be required, in the future, to perform the support functions of underground backfill in mines located in zones of permafrost, notably in the high Arctic. To date, no knowledge of physical support parameters of such materials has been obtained in Canada due to the limited mining activity in permafrost regions. It is therefore judged essential that the important physical and mechanical properties relating to frozen tailings material be assessed.Innovative mining methods will be required to cope with the harsh environmental conditions that exist at mining sites in the Canadian Arctic. A preliminary laboratory study, in the absence of field trials at limited Arctic mining sites, has been completed in which the physical and mechanical properties of several types of representative mill tailings mixtures have been investigated. A variety of tests, to determine frozen slurry and pelletized tailings strength properties, moduli of compression, optimum water contents, deformation characteristics and the like, have been conducted.The results of this study will be used to establish guidelines for the suitability of tailings use in such northern mining environments. IntroductionFrozen tailings material has never been used to backfill underground openings in Canadian mines. At present only one Canadian mine, the Polaris Mine situated on Little Cornwallis Island, is investigating the use of frozen backfill. However, the Canadian North covers a large territory and potentially contains a large number of mineral deposits. The understanding of concepts related to mining activities in sub-zero frozen ground is therefore important.The implications of using frozen tailings as underground backfill material are far reaching both from the point of view of mine stability and disposal of tailings in the arctic regions.The strength of frozen materials (soil, backfill, etc.) may take on different meaning depending on the engineering situation. Both the concepts of rupture and excessive deformation need to be considered.The functions usually required to be performed by the backfill material in underground mines may be summarized asfollows:a) working floors; such as in cut-and-fill stopesb) stope wall support; for cut-and-fill and delayed fill stope~c) self-support when backfill is exposed on one face; during pillar recovery phases.For fill functions such as working floors, the short-term response of the frozen fill is the dominant concern. For the other fill functions, the long-term deformation response of the frozen fill, or creep, is of interest."

Pyrrhotite-rich tailings from Sudbury, Ontario mining activities are known to contain significant amounts of EV metals, such as nickel and cobalt.  CanmetMINING has developed a novel bioleaching process for recovering the nickel and cobalt (both critical for vehicle electrification) from tailings that incorporates partial neutralization and iron removal in the bioleaching circuit; bench- and pilot-scale tests have resulted in excellent nickel and cobalt recovery over a range of temperatures.  However, this process generates a new bioleach residue, which is heavier and more voluminous than the original tailings due to pyrrhotite oxidation and jarosite formation during the bioleaching process. This residue can be problematic for long-term disposal. A possible solution being studied for this issue is using mine backfill as a disposal mechanism.  Underground backfilling allows for effective re-purposing of mine waste, however the backfill must also be able to withstand a certain load, since in most cases it is used as an underground construction material, such as in cut-and-fill mining methods.  Therefore, the composition of the mill tailings must be such that when combined with a binding agent and pumped underground, the slurry or paste is then able to withstand a certain load within a certain period of time.  Unfortunately, high-pyrrhotite content tailings, commonly found on mine sites in Ontario and Quebec, are reactive and can easily oxidize and produce acidity and/or metal-laden drainage under some disposal conditions. This means that the pyrrhotite in the tailings can lead to acid mine drainage if stored on surface, however, it can also cause strength degradation if re-purposed in too high a concentration in underground mine backfill.  The research being done at CanmetMINING related to the bioleaching process is aimed not only at recovering nickel and cobalt from mine tailings, it is also being used in an attempt to neutralize the tailings to reduce acid mine drainage and backfill strength degradation. This paper reports on research designed to evaluate different options for transforming the bioleaching process residue into iron oxide phases, for better environmental footprints if stored on surface, as well as increased disposal possible, if re-purposed as underground mine backfill material.

"Modular Mining&apos;s computerized LHD position monitoring and dispatching system commenced operation at the De Beers Finsch Mine in mid- J99J. A sophisticated blend of proven and new technologies links the dispatcher at the workstation console on the surface with the LHD operators several hundred metres below. The dispatcher allocates each LHD to a priority tip and loading drive based on instructions provided by the miners and shift bosses underground. LHD operators receive tip and loading drive allocations on the vehicle computer console which communicates data via a Leaky Feeder radio network. The operators interact with the console to notify the dispatcher of delays, breakdowns, and changes in tip and tunnel status. The underground terminal displays allow shift bosses to monitor the progress of the LHDs as they pass infrared beacons (IRs) located in the tips loading drives and rim tunnel main haulage ways. The terminals also provide on-line statistics for the current and previous shifts. Future enhancements include optimized dispatching and interfacing to a PLC system controlling ventilation. "Wollastonite (CaSiO3]) is experiencing increased usage in a variety of applications, such as fillers in paints, plastics and resins, as an extender to replace both non-fibrous and fibrous materials (e.g. asbestos), and in the glass and ceramics industries. Significant new deposits of wollastonite have been discovered in Marmora Township, about 175 km northeast of Toronto. The geological setting of these large-tonnage. High grade deposits has recently been investigated to assess the possibility of their development. A preliminary study of the chemistry, as well as the mineralogy of six occurrences is presented. Based upon this information, it is suggested that several of the deposits have an excellent development potential.INTRODUCTIONWollastonite is an anhydrous calcium metasilicate (CaSiO3), with a theoretical composition of 48.3% CaO and 51.7% SiO2; the calcium may be partially replaced by iron, manganese, magnesium, and strontium. Commonly associated minerals include diopside, tremolite, idocrase, grossularite andradite, quartz, and calcite. Wollastonite forms as a contact metamorphic mineral within impure limestone near intrusive bodies of granite, or other acidic rocks, as the result of metasomatism of calcareous sedimentary rocks, or by the crystallization of certain magmas (e.g. carbonautes). Generally, the reaction of calcite with silica to produce wollastonite occurs when siliceous hydrothermal fluids from a granitic intrusion or primary silica in the limestone/marble react with calcite in limestone at temperatures between 450°C and 600°C."

"The occurrence of recrystallization in cold-worked aluminum sheet during the brazing process leads to loss of strength, an inhomogeneous grain structure and reduced corrosion resistance. AlMgScZr alloys are known for their extraordinary recrystallization resistance due to the influence of Sc and Zr addition on their microstructure. Here, we investigate the effect of alloy composition (i.e. Mn, Mg, Sc, Zr content), cold-roll reduction and pre-aging treatment on the recrystallization behavior of cold-rolled sheets at brazing temperatures typically used during the manufacture of heat exchanger units. The analysis of recrystallization behavior is carried out through microstructural characterization and the results are compared with the behavior of a commercial, AA3xxx-based heat exchanger alloy.INTRODUCTION Control of recrystallization is of critical importance during brazing, which is a widely-used joining technique for aluminum alloys in aircraft structures (Heinz, 2000) and automotive heat exchangers (Miller, 2000; Marshall, 1993). Due to excessive local heat at brazing temperatures, the cold work texture of aluminum alloys in the cold-rolled sheets may undergo a local recrystallization process (Marshall, 1993). This leads to the formation of an inhomogeneous microstructure and thus anisotropic mechanical properties (Miller, 2000) and low corrosion resistance (Marshall, 1993) across the sheet. X800, a commonly-used Al-Mn alloy series for automotive heat exchangers applications, has been developed specifically for a higher strength as well as an enhanced corrosion resistance as opposed to the traditionally-used AA3003 alloy (Marshall, 1993). X800 alloys, however, exhibit a low recrystallization resistance at normal brazing temperatures, i.e. 590°C. In contrast, Al-Sc-Zr alloys have been shown to exhibit an extraordinary recrystallization resistance at such temperatures (Riddle, 2004) while also being corrosion resistant and possessing a high room-temperature strength (Fuller, 2002). This has been shown to be due to the formation of coherent, nanoscale Al3(ScZr) precipitates that effectively impede grain boundaries while also exhibiting very slow coarsening kinetics at high temperatures (Riddle, 2004; Jones, 2003; Ocenasek, 2001). In this study, we analyze the recrystallization behavior of X800 alloys under brazing conditions through introducing Sc and Zr into the system as well as varying the Mn and Mg content. The effect of processing route is also studied by introducing a pre-aging stabilization treatment as well as varying the cold-roll reduction prior to the final brazing anneal."
