"For about 20 years, the use of bacteria to control the flotation process for the production of raw material concentrates has been the subject of worldwide scientific and engineering efforts. The objective is to reduce the consumption of biologically non-degradable toxic reagents. The principle idea is to use the activity of bacteria in natural leaching processes – known since the middle of the last century – for controlling flotation processes.It was discovered that the selective activity of bacteria during the extraction of raw material concentrates by means of flotation could also be achieved with extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), excreted by bacteria. EPS, which is extracted by means of centrifuging bacterial cultures, can help to significantly reduce the use of cyanides, approximately 200,000 t/a are used for ore dressing today.The bacterium used was Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans. In order to identify the bandwidth of the oxidation activity, 21 bacterial strains of the strain collection of the University of Hamburg were attracted to iron(II) sulfate and pyrite under defined conditions. All strains oxidized iron(II) sulfate ten times faster than pyrite.EPS has so far been derived from four strains. In general, EPS extracts are divided into a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic fraction. The hydrophilic fraction is composed of e.g. fucose, rhamnose and glucose; fatty acids such as dodecanoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, octadecanoic acid and nonadecanoic acid were found in the hydrophobic fraction. Pure mineral phases and mineral mixtures were used for the flotation tests. The outcome was reproducible results with technical flotation machines. The research results known so far are mainly based on investigations with micro flotation devices, which are usually used for the characterization of reagents and which do not allow a direct translation to the technical scale."

One area in AG/SAG milling field which has received a great attention is the optimization of liner design for any application to increase the availability of mills. The Gol-E-Gohar iron ore concentration plant uses three 9m × 2.05m autogenous mills (AG) in parallel in a dry operation. The AG mill shell is lined with three series (57 cm each) of 36-row liners. Due to large variations in feed characteristics and inadequate blending, the performance of AG mills has been lower than the target value. Therefore, to improve the comminution efficiency, the optimization of the design of AG mill shell liners was applied in this plant. By simulation it was found that increasing the liner lifter face angle from 7 to 30° while maintaining the original lifter height (i.e., 22.5 cm) could provide an appropriate charge trajectory. Measurement of the wear profiles of shell liners indicated that the wear along the liner length was not uniform and the highest wear occurred between 0.5 m and 1.2 m of the mill length. A new liner design was proposed by redistributing the metal from parts with a lower wear rate to the parts with a higher wear rate to arrive at a uniform wear profile along the liner length at the liner removal time. The non-uniform shell liner was constructed and installed in one of the three parallel dry AG mills. It was found that the first and second liner designs increased the mill throughput by 2.6 and 7.5%, respectively. After conversion to SAG milling on the account of liner change, 18% (from 413 to 489 t/h) increase in throughput was realized. It was predicted that the non-uniform liner designs will increase the liner life time by 10% and will reduce the scrap metal from the current value of 59% to 50%.

Newmont Batu Hijau operates with an accelerated mining rate to optimize life of mine (LOM) project economics. This results in a portion of ore mined being stockpiled for reclaim and processing throughout, and at the end of mine life. LOM economics can be further enhanced by preserving stockpiled ore value by mitigating oxidation effects. A detailed stockpile ore oxidation study was conducted to: ?? Develop a practical understanding of how oxidation affects ore value; ?? Determine how oxidation rate can be controlled, and; ?? Determine how oxidation effects can be mitigated to preserve ore value. The result of the study is a stockpile management strategy that significantly reduces oxidation related losses and, implementation of that strategy within practical constraints. Implementation includes installation of Controlled Potential Sulfidisation (CPS) flotation to facilitate oxidised sulfide copper recovery and, recovery of dissolved copper from stockpile drainage solution into saleable product. This paper describes the study results including managing and predicting stockpile oxidation with time, monitoring performance of implemented CPS flotation and recovery of dissolved copper from stockpile drainage. These are essential elements of successful long term mine operation in Batu Hijau.

Limestone is used for neutralization of acid leachates in a number of hydrometallurgical processes. The aim of this study was to clarify how limestone ground to different particle sizes can neutralize sulfuric acid. The laboratory scale ball mill was used in grinding experiments carried out using ball sizes of 20, 30 and 40 mm and volumetric slurry densities of 30, 40 and 50 percents. Varied grinding times were used in order to produce limestone samples with different particle size classes on which the neutralization potential and rate were determined. The results of the study showed that the neutralization potential of limestone is not dependent on its particle size between 5 and 120 µm. However, the particle size strongly affected the neutralization rate of sulfuric acid: The smaller the particle size, the higher the rate of neutralization. Thus, when optimizing the cost efficiency of the process, the optimal degree of grinding should be considered taking in account the required residence time in neutralization phase.

The concept of adsorption or separation of platinum anions from base metal cations in chloride media using native or chemically modified activated carbons has been discussed in various journals within the context of batchwise systems. In our research work, a fixed-bed column, loaded with native and amine-immobilized activated carbon pellets (Norit RO 0.8), was used to study selective adsorption of platinum ions from chloride media at different flow rates, bed depth and initial metal concentrations. The kinetics, mass transfer characteristics, breakthrough data and separation factors (ß(Pt/Fe) and ß(Pt/Cr)) were quantitatively analysed and modeled. The bed-depth service time (BDST) model was used to model the breakthrough curves successfully in fixed-bed columns and also the dispersive diffusion in the radial and axial directions of the bed were evaluated. The inner diameter of the column was 3 cm and the bed depth was between 1.0 cm and 2.5 cm. Concentrated 4 M HCl acid solution was used to elute the fixed-bed column. It was demonstrated that amine-treated activated carbons provides superior separation factors between platinum and base metals (Fe, Cr). Results showed also, that 95% saturation was reached within 10~26 hours depending on the nature of ACs at a flow rate of 11 mL/min and initial concentration of 5 ppm.

In recent years, there is an increasing demand on manganese consumption which stems from the important role of manganese in carbon steel production. And the growing need for manganese ores makes the beneficiation of low-grade manganese ores more economical. In this study, the characterization and beneficiation studies were carried out to propose a flow sheet for typical low-grade Turkish manganese ores. For this aim, different gravity separation methods were applied. According to the mineralogical analysis, the major mineral phases are pyrolusite (MnO2) and psilomelane (MnO2) while the major gangue mineral is radiolarite. Gravity separation tests were accomplished by using jigs, shaking table, MGS (Multi Gravity Separator) and in order to obtain products with high Mn ratio, high intensity magnetic separation was also performed. As a result, different combinations of flow sheets were utilized and a concentrate assaying 56.5% Mn with 85 % recovery was obtained.

"More complex ore comminution and concentration operations have found increasing application in the mining industry due to lower grades and higher complexity of the available ores. An alternative to coping with the higher capital and operating costs of ore processing plants is the use of pre-concentration stages. They allow removing a significant mass of material with little or no content of the relevant mineral before the ore is fed into the processing plant, with the consequent reduction in the mass to be processed in downstream operations. Significant benefits arise out of the use of pre-concentration, such as higher contained metal output without the need to increase the grinding or flotation capacity, and longer mine life. The grade of marginal ores could be enhanced to a level that would make their exploration economically feasible, which would result in increasing exploitable reserves. Nevertheless, few studies to date have assessed the resulting impacts on ore grinding energy consumption and wear after the gangue is removed through pre-concentration operations. This study evaluated the energy consumption and wear of grinding circuits in Brazilian mining operations in which the feed has gone through a pre-concentration stage. Such assessment was based on different samples of sulfide and oxide ores. Laboratory tests were carried out to investigate the power consumption and wear of grinding circuits with and without a pre-concentration stage. Laboratory test results were used to simulate industrial grinding circuits based on both alternatives and illustrate the environmental and economic benefits of each one.INTRODUCTION Increasingly complex ore concentration operations in several stages have found broadening application in recent years in view of lower grades and higher complexity of the available ores. An alternative to coping with the higher capital and operating costs of ore processing plants is the use of pre-concentration stages. Different ore processing technologies can be used for that purpose, such as magnetic separation, density segregation, and separation methods based on high-tech sensors (ore sorting). Currently, the most common methods are gravimetric processes, in view of their low cost, particularly jigging and dense medium separation methods, such as the drum and cone separators manufactured by Western Machinery Company, Teska, Drewboy, Norwalt, Dynawhirlpool and Tri-flo, and dense medium cyclones (CAMPOS; LUZ; BRAGA, 2010). The use of dry ore sorters has also grown significantly in recent years (Jose Neto et al. 2017). The selection of the separator type depends essentially on the ore particle size, required flows, and operating density ranges. All these methods may even be used after preferential blasting in mining (Grigg & Delemontex, 2015)."

"Buzwagi Gold Mine (BGM) is operated by Acacia Mining and located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of central Tanzania. The mine treats a sulphide copper-gold ore to produce gold in form of doré bars and a concentrate containing gold, copper and silver. The BGM comminution circuit includes a primary crushing stage with a gyratory crusher and two grinding circuits using a Semi-Autogenous Grinding (SAG) mill and a ball mill. Currently, the grinding circuits are inefficient in achieving the aspired product fineness of xP,80 = 125 µm even at low to normal throughputs (450-600 t/h). An optimization study of the circuit performance was conducted to improve product fineness through circuit surveys, experimental lab work and simulations. The analysis of survey data revealed inefficient grinding operation characterized by ball mill product (xP,80 > 400 µm) coarser than designed and higher hydrocyclone cut sizes (xT > 200 µm), too. In MODSIM several options were simulated such as reduction of vortex finder and apex diameters, reduction of SAG screen aperture, and modification of cyclone feed density. An improvement of product fineness could be achieved by simulation of the cumulative changes but it was also concluded that the current equipment cannot achieve the target. Further simulations showed that a second ball mill might help to achieve the desired fineness as well as an increase of grinding throughput by up to 26 %. INTRODUCTION Simulation of comminution, particularly grinding and classification, has received great attention for many years, due to the fact that the unit operation is by far the most important both in terms of energy consumption as well as overall plant performance (King, 2001; Wills et al., 2006). The use of simulation is advantageous due to low cost as well as its ability to consider many variables simultaneously. Moreover, there are some benefits for optimizing grinding operations by simulation like decreased unit operating costs, increased capacity, and improved performance of downstream processes due to improved feed size distribution. This paper presents an optimization study for the grinding efficiency at Buzwagi Gold Mine. This was achieved through three full scale circuit surveys, lab work and simulations with MODSIM."

The traditional (popular) approach to reagent development and optimization, which has become entrenched in both research and practice for many decades, is highly reductionistic, incremental and costly, does not produce robust chemical solutions, and is not sustainable. There are also several other key drivers and changes in the mineral industry that clearly warrant a new approach. In response to these, an intense effort was made at Cytec over the past fifteen years to develop a meaningful, efficient, and sustainable approach to develop new reagents and robust chemical solutions in mineral separations. This effort culminated in three important outcomes: a) development of the holistic approach, called FLOTATION MATRIX 100? process, b) novel reagents, and c) enhanced application knowledge for reagents. In this paper, the efficiency, utility and power of the holistic approach will be demonstrated with examples using both existing and new reagents in the processing of Cu-Au, Au and Cu-Mo ores.

2-hydroxy-3-naphthoy hydroxamic acid code name F203 is a good collector of cassiterite, 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoy hydroxamic acid code name ZJ-3. F203 and ZJ-3 are similar series of isomers. They have similar naphthye, and similar series of functional OH and ?CONHOH, but the seat of OH and ?CONHOH group are different, on the F203 is 2.3; on the ZJ-3 is 1.2, ortho position too. According to Isomeric principle ZJ-3 is a good collector of cassiterite slime too. Using ZJ-3 as collector flotation -10µm occupies 90%, grade 1.16% Sn cassiterite slime of Da Chang Chehe concentration plant, pass one coursing flotation, two cleaning and one scarenging flotation, and obtains grand 18.26% Sn, recovery 92.68% cassiterite concentrate. The result proves the Isomeric principle of flotation reagents is correct again. This principle may supply to synthetize new flotation reagents reference. The present study investigates the nature of gold mineralogical distribution and association in a Cu-Au flotation circuit (1.6 g/t Au, feed head grade). The approach used in this study involves a combination of bulk gold assay and quantitative X-ray diffraction (QXRD), on a size-by-size basis, followed by QEMSCAN analysis on the -75+53 µm, -53+38 µm and -38+20 µm size fractions. The QXRD and QEMSCAN analysis showed that gold mineralogy is complex and fine-grained in the flotation feed, particularly in the -38+20 µm size fraction. Gold and pyrite concentration follow each other closely, suggesting gold-pyrite association. Quartz as the major gangue mineral shows a bi-modal distribution with respect to particle size. The identified gold particles were completely locked (~94 %) in pyrite as fine inclusions and 6 % locked as complex aggregates (-75+53 µm size fraction) whereas in the -38+20 µm size fraction, the identified gold grains occur as fine inclusions (~1-3 µm) within pyrite and silicates. However, in the intermediate size fraction (-53+38 µm), 75 % of the identified gold grains (10-22 µm) were over 90 % liberated and 25 % associated and locked in pyrite and complex aggregates (~2-4 µm). The identified gold grains in the -53+38 µm size fraction occurred as native and electrum with varying silver concentration between 8 and 20 % by weight. In the -38+20 µm size fraction, a gold telluride was also identified. Based on the mineralogical analysis of the feed, possible flotation strategies are discussed. "The tungsten (WO3)-rich ores from King Island Scheelite (KIS) Mine, Australia, containing scheelite(CaWO4) were previously recovered by gravity separation and flotation of fine scheelite (1978-92) with an overall recovery of 76% when both circuits were operating. Recently extensive test work has been conducted both in China and in Australia on KIS ores, assaying from 0.50%-1.34%WO3, and tailings assaying 0.2%WO3(GZRINM 2009; 2011a; 2011b). A new approach, which aimed at improving both recovery and grade of concentrate by means of an innovative all flotation route WOF (Whole Ore Flotation), achieved excellent results: 90%-92% recovery to concentrate grade of 66%-70%WO3for the ores. The process is characterized by the use of selective reagents in flotation, including a newly developed collector for scheelite, GYWA. The WOF process also embraces the "Improved Petrov Method" in the cleaning of scheelite rougher concentrate. Earlier investigations found that the removal of sulfides by flotation prior to scheelite flotation was not necessary. It was also found that recycling of process water did not influenceresults. Two main ore types were tested as well as tailings from 2009to 2001(0.20%WO3). In addition a flow sheet using wet high gradient magnetic separation (WHGMS) in tandem with flotation was also investigated for the tailings."

Reverse flotation process tests were conducted for marine sedimentary silicon-calcium phosphate ore in this research. The research findings showed that by adding antifoamer, a concentrate with P2O5 32.36%, SiO2 10.69%, MgO 0.67% was obtained, with recovery of P2O5 being 88.12%. Such is a satisfying result, when compared with the original mineralogical component of P2O5 26.64%, SiO2 11.51% and MgO 3.36%. When using antifoamer, the SiO2 grade of the concentrate increased 0.55%, the MgO grade decreased 0.64%, while P2O5 recovery increased 2.69% compared by adding no antifoamer. Adding antifoamer is favorable to increase the grade and recovery of P2O5. Therefore, antifoamer is necessary. Tests of synergistic reaction of antifomer indicate that the appropriate consumption of the antifoamer is 275g/t CY and 1Kg/t TWF. South African is a repository of significant deposits of a variety of minerals. The Citigroup confirms this assertion with an estimate of in-situ valuation of US$2.5 Trillion. The mining sector plays an important role in the South African economy. In addition to the mineral resource base South Africa has other comparative advantages. Firstly, South Africa retains major mining companies that participate globally, including Anglo American, Goldfields and De Beers. Their global involvement offers much to the local mining sector and the broader economy. Secondly, government established research councils. The Council for Geoscience (CGS) was established to manage the Geological Survey of South Africa, including the reduction of geo-scientific investment risk. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) promotes industrial development, including mining technology development. Mintek undertakes mineral research from mineral examination of ores, to extraction and refining technologies and manufacture of end products. Thirdly, South African universities teach and conduct research along the mineral value chain. They have increased their minerals graduates? capacity, thus advancing knowledge and skills. Knowledge and technical progress are behind productivity growth and emergence of competitive advantage. The research and development (R&D) capabilities of industry, science councils and universities, working in unison, will enhance the competitiveness of the South African mining industry. The National System of Innovation (NSI) requires multi-disciplinary, collaborative research. Key R&D elements, including skills and expertise, funding and facilities, must be available to implement a long-term national strategy or programme. Improved international collaboration and partnerships between government, academia and industry driven human resource development (HRD), ultimately develop the critical mass for inter-generational skills requirements. This trend requires an expansion of research collaboration programmes. Decisions involving investments and collaborative actions pertaining to R&D in the sector necessitate an analysis of the South African mineral value chain R&D capability. This paper analyses the evolution of R&D capability from exploration to refining, tertiary education, science councils and industry. The political economy of the evolution of this capability is analyzed in relation to the central role that the South African government plays in creating an appropriate supporting environment and related initiatives to enhance R&D and innovation. "The leaching of base and precious metal ores and concentrates continues to progress in both laboratory study and industrial application. These developments are being driven by the need to respond to difficult ores and concentrates that are not amenable to conventional treatment. In many cases alternatives are being developed to conventional treatment (e.g. Pyrometallurgy) for technical and economic reasons.In this paper, a brief general review of some new developments in leaching will be followed by a more detailed explanation of three process developments that have either been industrially applied or are expected to be applied in a short time frame. The three processes to be reviewed in detail are the Mt. Gordon Copper Process, the Anglo American Corporation/University of British Columbia Copper Process and the PLATSOL Process. These leaching processes operate at low (90°C), medium (150°C) and high (220°C) temperature and are successful in quickly and completely extracting metal values from ores and concentrates.INTRODUCTIONThe process of leaching is widely used in hydrometallurgy to selectively recover a metal of interest from an ore or a concentrate. Leaching and by extension hydrometallurgy is well established in the recovery of copper (copper heap leach ? SX-EW), nickel (Moa Bay and Caron process), zinc (roast ? leach ? electrowin and zinc pressure leach), gold (cyanidation) and uranium (acid sulfate leach). Of course this success extends to many of the metals found in nature. Recently, the importance of hydrometallurgy appears to be increasing with hydrometallurgy viewed as an attractive alternative to both traditional mineral processing and conventional smelting/converting/refining. This increasing interest has led to intensive study and increasing application. Selected developments include:Copper ? the Mt. Gordon process and new concentrate processes such as INTEC, Activox, CESL, Dynatec, Total Pressure Oxidation, MIM Albion, BioCop, and the AAC/UBC Process.Nickel ? Voisey Bay process for hydrometallurgical treatment of Voisey Bay concentrate, HPAL processing of laterites at Murrin Murrin, Bulong and Cawse, atmospheric leaching of laterites, heap bioleaching of nickel sulfides by Titan Resources (Australia).Zinc ? establishment of zinc leach, solvent extraction and electrowinning technology for treatment of the Skorpion deposit in Namibia, new developments in atmospheric and pressure leaching, the Hydrozinc process.Gold ? development of a number of thiosulfate leaching processes for recovery of gold from refractory carbonaceous ores or concentrates."

This paper presents the results of pilot scale column flotation applications in the two different copper concentrators in Turkey. The Kure Copper Plant is located in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. In Kure, a very fine grinding requirement for an adequate level of liberation makes a successful flotation difficult and consequently the final concentrate can hardly assay above 16% Cu Column flotation tests were conducted at the plant site using two different column types The experiments proved that the grade of the concentrate could be increased from about 14% Cu to 25-26% Cu. Murgul Cakmakkaya Copper Concentrator is the largest copper concentrator in Turkey. Although concentrate production capacity is around 170,000 tons annually with 22-23% Cu content, this figure tends to be much lower than that. In Murgul a Turbo Column of Multotec Company of South Africa was employed. As a result of systematic column flotation tests, the grade of the concentrate was increased from 20.3% Cu to 28.7% Cu.

"Pneumatic flotation cells of the KFM series are intended for the concentration of various ores and technogenic materials. The key operating principle of the flotation cells of the KFM series is the preparation of pulp for flotation in blowers, offering the advantage of an accelerated flotation process. This report summarizes the results of the implementation and operation of the KFM cells at Russian and foreign projects in 2015-2017. Their implementation and operation experience confirms the high efficiency of the KFM cells, especially in the head of lead and zinc, copper and zinc, copper flotation processes:head KFM-600 flotation cell recovers from lead-zinc ore (Rudmetal AD modular concentrator) up to 52% of lead in a single stage (without cleaner flotation) in a salable lead head concentrate (grade of up to 76% lead, 2.3% zinc). The flotation cell proved to be much more efficient than originally expected in the process description in the design phase,flotation of the copper-zinc ore from Novo-Shemur deposit (PJSC Svyatogor concentrator) in two KFM- 1400M cells recovers up to 65% of copper and 70% of zinc in a high-grade bulk copper-zinc concentrate containing 12-13% of copper and 25-28% of zinc. The installation of the two cells with a combined capacity of 26 m3 allowed to decommission 4 chambers of FPM-16 pneumomechanical flotation cells with a combined capacity of 64 m3 with a simultaneous increase in the overall ore concentration performancea single KFM-1400M cell (13 m3) recovers from the copper ore from Volkov deposit (PJSC Svyatogor concentrator) 53% of copper into a high-grade copper head concentrate (33.0% of copper). For comparison, the pneumomechanical cell FPM-16 (capacity 16 m3) has almost half as low copper recovery (29.6%) into the head concentrate at a lower grade (30.5% copper)."

Beneficiation and dephosphorization of refractory oolitic hematite ore are investigated in this paper. It is shown that single magnetic separation, gravity separation or flotation is unable to recover iron effectively from the ore due to the complex mineralogy. The joint separation by spiral chute-shaking table shows a prospect for the treatment of the ore. An iron concentrate with 58.67% iron grade and 51.93% recovery is obtained by the joint separation of spiral chute and shaking table under the fineness of ?0.074mm 90% and dispersant dosage of 2kg/t for a sample ore of 37.51% Fe and 0.88% P. However, P content in the concentrate is still up to 0.52%. Dephosphorization from the concentrate is hence carried out. The final iron concentrate assaying 59.26% Fe and 0.056% P is obtained when the concentrate obtained by joint separation is leached by sulfuric acid of 1% (mass fraction) with solid percentage 10% at room temperature for 10min.

"A novel carbonaceous immobilizing agent for heavy metal contaminated soil was prepared from rice straw using sulfur immersion and pyrolysis, and the lead immobilization in artificial contaminated soils using sulfur-impregnated carbonaceous material was estimated. The rice straws were cut to 1 cm pieces, and then immersed in 0.1 - 1 M K2S solution for 0 - 24 h to prepare sulfur-immersed materials. The immersed-materials were heated at 400 oC for 1 h in nitrogen gas to produce the sulfur-impregnated carbonaceous material by pyrolysis. The abilities of the product to immobilize lead from aqueous solution were examined to obtain the product with high lead immobilization ability. With increasing K2S concentration, the immobilization ability of the product for lead gradually increases and then above 0.5 M K2S those are almost constant, while 15 min is sufficient for the immersed time to obtain the product with high lead immobilization ability. The product prepared from material immersed in more than 0.5 M K2S solution for less than 15 min has a maximum immobilization ability for lead ion. The lead immobilization using the sulfur-impregnated product is sustainable due to the formation of leadhillite [Pb4SO4(CO3)2(OH)2] and anglesite [PbSO4]. The product can immobilize lead ion in various artificial lead contaminated soils. By mixing artificial lead contaminated soil with the sulfur-impregnated product, the eluted solution became neutral, and the eluted concentrations of lead ion dropped below the Japanese elution standard for soil.INTRODUCTION Soil contamination with heavy metals is a worldwide problem. Accumulation of heavy metals in soils affect soil ecology, agricultural productivity, quality of agricultural products, water resources, and serious health problems for human and animal (Raicevic, et al., 2005). In the United States, for example, approximately 63 % of the sites on the National Priority List (NPL) for the treatment of contaminated soils are contaminated by metals, and lead is the most common metal, found at 15 % of the sites. In Japan, according to a report by the Ministry of Environment, 43 % of the contaminated sites that exceed the environmental quality standards are contaminated by lead compounds. Soil contamination by lead compounds is also prevalent in other developed and developing countries where lead compounds are used extensively in industrial activities without careful contamination management. Lead is a ubiquitous heavy metal pollutant in soils due to their use widely. The primary sources of Pb contamination include industrial activities such as mining, smelting of metals, and the use of Pb-containing products such as paints, lead-acid batteries, bullets, gasoline and pesticides (Cao, et al., 2009). It can damage human nervous (especially children) and reproductive systems (ATSDR, 2007). The high concentration of Pb in the soil poses risks to human and animal health by the leaching of metals from the soil into water and the consumption of edible plants growth in the contaminated soil. Therefore, proper remediation is necessary to reduce metal availability in soil for protecting human health."
