For many years, sulfuric acid producers all over the world have been forced to meet ever more strict environmental regulations to reduce SO2 emissions. The sulfuric acid industry has implemented new solutions in order to comply with the new lower SO2 emissions target. Haldor Topsoe (Topsoe) has responded to this challenge by continuously improving the range of VK sulfuric acid catalysts and providing tailor-made catalyst solutions to meet the demands of the sulfuric acid producers for lower SO2 emissions. Reducing emissions through catalysis: requires less capital than installing a scrubber, requires no additional process chemicals, generates no waste or by-product to dispose of. In 1996 Topsoe introduced VK69, a cesium-promoted vanadium catalyst, designed for operation in the pass(es) after the intermediate absorption tower in double absorption plants. The high activity of VK69 allows for a more than 50% reduction in SO2 emissions from existing double-absorption plants. Topsoe currently has more than 110 installations of VK69. To comply with the still more stringent regulations being placed on the sulfuric acid industry to lower SO2 emissions, Topsoe has developed a new sulfuric acid catalyst designated VK-701 LEAP5™. This catalyst was introduced to the market in 2010. VK-701 LEAP5™ is based on a novel technology which circumvents the internal transport deficiencies of existing commercial sulfuric acid catalysts and thereby offers exceptionally high activity in strong, SO3 rich gases. Sulfuric acid plants have used this catalyst to meet emissions requirements lower than previously believed possible with a catalyst only solution. This paper will present examples on how to reduce emissions by implementing a tailor-made catalyst solution using VK69 and VK-701 LEAP5™.

A new warehouse built with prefabricated components over an area underlined by soft marine soil deposits started showing differential settlements well before its completion. Its 103 spread footings carrying up to 4,000kN (450t) axial loads had been cast on jet-grouted columns extending and penetrating a layer of sand at a depth of 10m (33ft). Investigations performed to assess the wholeness and consistency of the jet-grouted columns revealed a state of loose jet-grouted masses and uncontrolled, off target migrations of the jet-grouting. Most of the jet-grouting itself was settling. The following remedial solutions were suggested: 1. Construction of new and better controlled jet-grouted columns. 2. Cement-based soil grouting. 3. Expanding resin injections. 4. Minipiles drilled-through the existing footings and reaching into a denser layer of sand existing at 23m below grade. Remedial solution 1. was immediately discarded due to cost and the possibility of a repeating failure in this non-granular and highly compressible soil. Tests of remedial solutions 2. and 3. were carried out. The outcome of the grouting was monitored by Electro Resistivity Tomography (ERT) (Bares et al., 2003), an innovative 3D electro tomography procedure showing where grout had been actually placed and its migrations off target. A successful 4,000kN (450t) load tests confirmed the validity of the solution. Finally, upon the completion of a successful load test, solution 4. was chosen. It supplied the highest degree of reliability thanks to the ease of controlling the final and actual location of the minipiles and to the higher safety factor provided. All remedial work to install the minipiles was eventually performed inside the building. Additional load tests and settlement measurements confirmed the adequacy and success of the chosen solution.

Olympic Dam is a world-class deposit and is unquestionably one of the most geologically, structurally and texturally complex orebodies in the world. As development advances into the Southern Mine Area (SMA) the geological understanding is rapidly evolving as underground drill rigs are prioritised to provide the additional data necessary to convert Indicated and Inferred Resources into Measured Resources. The SMA represents approximately 70 per cent of Olympic Dam’s total resource and is significantly more complex when compared to the Northern Mine Area with respect to the diverse nature and origin of lithotypes, rock mass characteristics and the extent of major structures controlling primary mineralisation trends.Recent mine development into the central SMA has been impacted by a major structural gouge zone. Sound geological interpretation allowed mine geologists to successfully integrate their local understanding of the distribution of lithotypes with critical geotechnical data, chiefly rock quality designation (RQD), to delineate and better predict this major structural gouge zone. As a direct result, development rates improved whilst also increasing awareness for the importance of sound geological interpretation utilising all available data. In order to maximise predictability across all systems in place through the mining geology value chain, the integration of geological and geotechnical data in a geotechnical RQD block model provides an additional tool to assist in preventative solutions for complex problems to achieve a proactive mining environment.This paper details the methods used to build the RQD block model, the geostatistical estimation parameters, 3D geotechnical domain wireframes, challenges regarding legacy approaches, and collection of geotechnical information and incorporating/linking geotechnical data with geological features, including the use of grade and lithotype domains. Although the geotechnical block model proved difficult and complex to construct, the resultant product has seen successful integration of geological and geotechnical data into mine planning providing higher resolution of critical parameters for local mining areas.CITATION:Clark, J M, Passmore, M and Poznik, N, 2017. "Quebec Cartier Mining operates a pelletizing plant in Port-Cartier, QC. Grinding, agglomeration and pellets induration are the three main steps in the preparation of iron oxide pellets. In 1998, following different recommendations, the company increased the speed of one of its ball mill in order to increase the grinding efficiency of the machine. As expected, the increased speed lead to an increase of the power draught, which did not produce the expected increase of fineness of grind, neither its allows to increase the mill throughput. The change of behaviour of the mill could hardly be understood by comparison of discharge size distribution at initial and modified mill rotation speed. On the other hand, the use of the selection function from a population balance model provides an insight of the changes that occurred in the mill. This paper reviews the various steps required for the estimation of a grinding mill selection function. Results of the calibration to Quebec Cartier grinding mills show that the increase in the mill speed leads to higher rate of breakage of coarse particles, at the expenses of less efficient breakage of medium and fine size particles. In the case of the studied mill, breakage of coarse particles was probably not the critical step of the mill operation. INTRODUCTIONOre size reduction is the major energy consumption step in any mineral processing operations (Austin et al., 1984). Size reduction is required to either liberate valuable minerals from the gangue minerals in which they are imbedded, or to increase the specific surface of the ground material. Plant engineers continuously face the challenge to find grinding machines, operating conditions or grinding circuit flowsheet configurations that could improve the size reduction process at lower energy or m6dia consumption."

In the last four decades significant effort has been devoted to designing piles in expansive clay soils. Nevertheless, only a scant effort has been devoted to the elimination of heave forces acting on the upper part of lightly loaded piles. For this purpose, an investigation site was established in Karmiel in Northern Israel. On this site sixteen unloaded cast-in-situ piles, both uncoated and coated, were installed in a moderately expansive clay soil in the end of summer 1996. The piles were executed to different depths ranging between 2m and 7m and were observed over a period of 27 months. Another nine unloaded cast-in-situ bored piles were installed at the end of summer 1998 for carrying out pullout tests. These piles were embedded two meters from the ground surface. Results obtained from observations and from full-scale static pull out tests showed that separating the piles from the surrounding clay in the active zone by a twin walled sleeve eliminated the heave forces significantly. The scope of the work is, determining of the elimination degree of the heave forces due to the provision of the above sleeve.

INTRODUCTION The Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina is the fourth largest airport in the southeast region of the United States. The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority is currently underway with planning, designing and constructing are placement Passenger Terminal as part of the Major Capital Improvements Program at Raleigh Durham International Airport. The Terminal C Expansion and Renovation Project will replace the existing Terminal C structure with a new processor building and concourse. The project is separated into several contracts. The early stage contracts are constructing a west side storm water management facility, relocating taxiways, installing new drainage systems, installing new aircraft apron pavement, Demolition, the Central Energy Plant and Early Foundations. The later projects are the Terminal Building, Passenger Boarding Bridges, Information Technology Systems and Integration, Furniture, Furnishings & Equipment and Specialty Millwork. The Terminal Building will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 constructs the north half of the new terminal. Airline operations will move to the new terminal at the completion of this phase. Phase 2 completes construction of the south processor building. The full build out of the project, subject to funding availability, will replace the remainder of the south concourse. The Program’s primary focus is to replace the existing passenger Terminal C with a new terminal that will provide more passenger gates and larger passenger screening, ticketing and baggage handling facilities. The planning for the New Terminal C Program began in 2002 with construction starting in March, 2003. The continuing growth of passenger airline travel in the Raleigh/Durham metropolitan area requires RDU to expand its facilities to keep up with the present and future growth within the Region. In October of 2002, the RDU Airport Authority selected Parsons Transportation Group as the Program Manager/Construction Manager to help assist in the development of the Terminal C expansion program. RDU Airport Authority selected the Seattle Washington Office of URS Corporation as the Engineer of Record for the West Side Storm Water Management Facilities. The Westside Storm Water Management Facilities Project became one of the early critical path activities of the overall RDUAA Terminal C Expansion Program. The Briar Creek Reservoir had been constructed to accommodate storm water runoff to the west of the Airport. The existing 1.5 m culvert that drained runoff from the airport terminal (area) to the reservoir was insufficient in supporting the additional flows

A potentiometric model study has been made of the effect of vertical fractures existing in the matrix of the reservoir on the flooding or cycling performance. Fractures can have unusual flow characteristics. Fluid entering one side of a fracture can emerge on either the same or opposite side of the fracture, depending on the particular streamline. Fracture orientation has a great influence on the sweep efficiency. However, sustained fluid injection may still permit large areas to be swept. INTRODUCTION One can find considerable information available in the literature on the effect of fractures originating at the wellbore on sweep efficiencies of water-flooding or gas cycling programs.1-5 However, there arc few, if any, quantitative data reported in the literature on the effect of vertical or horizontal fractures existing out in the reservoir matrix on secondary recovery performance. Several papers have been presented on the effect of vertical and horizontal fractures on the productivity or conductivity of waterflood and gas injection patterns, but in all cases the fractures initiated at the well and simulated commercial fractures.6,7 It is believed that natural fractures may exist out in the reservoir matrix and would effect the displacement performance. The purpose of this report was to study the effect of a few isolated vertical fractures existing out in the reservoir matrix on the performance of waterflood or gas injection patterns. DESCRIPTION AND EQUIPMENT Since the potentiometric model was described by Lee8 it has been widely used to study numerous types of fluid displacement problems. The potentio- metric model can be used for fluid displacement studies when the following assumptions are valid: (a) steady-state conditions exist; (b) the mobilicy ratio is one; and (c) the capillary and gravitational effects can be neglected. Five-spot and direct line drive square patterns were studied using a copper strip of the desired length and orientation to simulate a vertical fracture in the reservoir matrix. The 20 x 20-in. model was considered to represent only one element of an infinite array of similar patterns. DISCUSSION AND RESULTS FIVE-SPOT PATTERN — ONE FRACTURE BETWEEN INJECTION AND PRODUCING WELLS Fig. 1 shows a quadrant of a five-spot pattem with the vertical fracture existing out in the matrix along a line connecting the injection and producing wells. Length of the fracture was equal to 35.4 per cent of the distance between injection and producing wells. In this particular pattern it is noted that fluid breaks through from the injection well to the producing well when the dimensionless time is equivalent to 26.9. The US economy continued to grow steadily in 1988, reaching an annual rate of $5 trillion in the last quarter (US trillion = 1012). The value of domestically processed mineral-based materi¬als rose 20% to $300 billion (US billion 109). The value of metals produced from US ores rose 40% to more than $10 billion, industrial minerals rose 6%' to $20 billion, and recycled scrap more than doubled to $10 billion. Increasing economic activity stimulated metal prices. Yearly lows and highs were 95 cents and $1.68 for copper, 52 cents, and $1.30 for aluminum, 34 cents and 42 cents for lead, and 43 cents and 75 cents for zinc. A number of mining and metal companies experienced significantly increased profitability. Consumer demand strongly affects mining because the US economy is relatively saturated with long-lived products. Consumer, mortgage, and Federal debt continued to rise. About 246 million US citizens already possess 170 million licensed motor vehicles and 100 million dwelling units. New car production remained at the 1987 level of 7.1 million units. Truck and bus production, however, rose 7% to 4.1 million units. New housing starts fell 7% to 1.5 million units. Imports supplied a significant proportion of total US consumption of several important mineral materials. By year-end, imports of crude and refined petroleum exceeded domestic crude oil production. Such imports cost $42 billion. Imports of nonfuel mineral-based materials were valued at $44 billion and exports at $35 billion. The US and Canada-the world's two largest trading partners-consummated a historic free trade agreement. In February, President Reagan transferred responsibility for stockpiling strategic and critical materials to the Secretary of Defense. And, in July, the GSA group that bought, stored, rotated, and sold stockpiled materials was transferred to the Defense Department's Defense Logistics Agency. Concern about apartheid in South Africa continued, resulting in increasing attention to chromium, manganese, platinum-group metals, cobalt, vanadium, and gold. The Defense Production Act, authorizing priorities and allocations, supply expansions, voluntary agreements, and the National Defense Executive Reserve, was amended to include provisions for averting harm to national security from foreign takeovers. The DPAct, in effect through September 1989, is now up for further extension. Under the Act, the US Bureau of Mines maintains the Emergency Minerals Administration. During the year, consultations were held with Canada to strengthen the North American Defense Industrial Base. Coal production, 60% from open pits, rose 5% to 870 Mt (960 million st). Nearly four-fifths was burned to generate 57% of US electricity. Exports included 56 Mt (62 million st) of metallur- gical coal and 29 Mt (32 million st) of steam coal, with a total value of $4 billion. Domestic petroleum produc¬tion fell 2% to 574 hm3 (3.6 billion bbl). Uranium mining, including recovery from phosphates, was unchanged at 5.9 kt (6500 st). Nonfuel minerals Major metals Raw steel production-a major con¬sumer of many minerals-rose 14% to 92 Mt (102 million st). Domestic iron ore production rose 25% to 59 Mt (65 million st), about 96% pelletized. Net imports rose 37% to 16 Mt (18 million st). Raw steelmaking capacity of 102 Mt (112 million st) was unchanged. Keywords: Laminate Composites; Mechanical Behavior; Damage Evolution The mechanical performance of Ti-6-4-Al3Ti metal-intermetallic laminate (MIL) composites synthesized by a reactive foil sintering technique was evaluated. Crack morphology of untested Ti-6-4-Al3Ti MIL composites has been characterized by optical microscopy. Mechanical tests were performed on Ti-Al3Ti metal-intermetallic laminate (MIL) composites and pure Al3Ti, and the principal mechanisms of damage initiation and accumulation were identified experimentally. The elastic properties and anisotropy of the laminates were calculated and successfully compared with Resonant Ultrasonic Spectroscopy (RUS) measurements. The effect of residual stress on the fracture toughness of the Ti-6-4-Al3Ti MIL composites was analyzed.

Deposits of the Reefton Goldfield, West Coast, New Zealand, are hosted on N-NE striking, upright folds of the Greenland Group. High-grade quartz lodes are hosted on axial planar shears, typically have short strike lengths, and form shoots that pitch steeply on the hosting shears. Deposits within the field area of a detailed structural study share these characteristics. Field mapping and microstructural analysis have demonstrated that the Greenland Group was affected by a multideformational sequence. Gold mineralisation is hosted on shears axial planar to the F2 folds, but occurred during a subsequent deformation event (D4). Deformation during D4 resulted from N-NE directed shortening, near parallel to the trend of the F2 folds. This event produced F4 kink folds that were accommodated by layer parallel slip on S2 parallel shears, gold mineralisation during D4 being confined to the dilational hinges of F4 kink folds. The semi-brittle nature of D4 allowed the formation of stockwork veining and disseminated mineralisation within the F4 hinge zones. Most deposits within the goldfield are similar to those within the field area, and are interpreted to have been mineralised during D4. The two largest known deposits within the goldfield, however, are distinct. The Blackwater Deposit, striking parallel to the hosting folds, has a combined strike length of 1 km. The Globe-Progress Deposit is hosted on an E-W striking discordant shear in which a brittle zone of disseminated mineralisation encompasses high-grade quartz lodes. The characteristics that distiguish the Globe and Blackwater deposits may be due to formation before and after D4 respectively. Detailed field mapping in the vicinity of known deposits throughout the goldfield will further refine the relationships between the F2 folds, later deformations and the localisation of ore deposits. Additional mapping may also help constrain the position, orientation and extent of additional orebodies.

SUMMARY The Witwatersrand quartzites in which South African gold mining operations are moat exclusively conducted, are notoriously difficult and costly to drill. Despite this situation, however, with the high cost of developing new mines and extending existing mines, together with the rising cost of labour and mining problems resulting from the ever-increasing depths of workings, the demand for raise-boring in these formations is increasing rapidly. Not only is the demand for raises and shafts increasing, but also the length and size of these excavations. Raise-boring studies carried out in South African gold mines have indicated that increased penetration rates and possibly reduced costs could be obtained if higher thrusts were available at the reaming head. Until fairly recently there has been no raise-boring machine suitable for underground use that possessed the thrust and torque characteristics necessary to achieve high penetration rates in hard abrasive quartzite formations and the cutters available were not really developed for high loading. In response to these requirements a raise-borer, the Robbins 83R was designed and built in Seattle, U.S.A. for the Anglo American Corporation. This machine is operating in South African gold mines and is currently being used at a depth of 12 000 ft below surface in one of the. Group's mines. The initial raises bored have substantiated that increased penetration is attainable at high thrust and it is now apparent that the machine is sufficiently versatile to drill raises of up to 12 ft in diameter in quartzite formation over a length of 2 000 ft.

Cadmium occurs in the Broken Hill Lode essentially as a camouflaged element, substituting diadochically for zinc in the sphalerite.Analyses of a series of zinc concentrate flotation products, prepared from samples of ore taken at intervals throughout the developed lengths of the several orebodies forming the lode, have revealed a pattern in the distribution of cadmium relative to zinc. This pattern appears to reflect the temperature and order of deposition of the several orebodies, and the direction of movement of the mineralizing solutions.INTRODUCTIONThis investigation into the distribution of cadmium in the several orebodies of the Broken Hill lode was undertaken by the Mineragraphic Section. of C.S.I.R.O. in conjunction with the Broken Hill Geological Research Committee, as part of a study of Broken Hill mineralization.It arose from the examination of cadmium and zinc assays supplied by Mr. T. A. Read, Chief Metallurgist of the Broken Hill South Ltd.; of experimental zinc concentrates prepared from localized samples of the No, 2 and No. 3 orebodies in the Broken Hill South Mine. These assays suggested that the two orebodies were characterized by distinctive ZnjCd ratios.In view of the possible sigmficanc'e of such a difference, comparable data were sought from each of the other mines. The necessary samples of ore were collected by the geological staffs of the several mines. The preparation of separate zinc concentrates and lead concentrates from these samples, and their assaying, was conducted by Mr. Evan Hardy, for the North Broken Hill Mine, and its assodated leases, and by Mr. D., Swan, under the direction of Dr. J. The Appalachian Blaster Certification Delegation initiated a study to compare the consistency of measurements from blasting seismographs. Six blasts were monitored at surface coal mines in West Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio. A total of seven different makes were deployed during the tests, with as many as seven models from five different manufacturers compared during any one blast. Great care was taken to bury the geophones in identical fashion. The variations in seismograph readings were compared to the International Society of Explosives Engineers’ Performance Specifications for Blasting Seismographs. Between 4 and 125 Hertz, the ground vibration amplitudes should be within ±5% and airblast amplitudes should be ±1 decibel. For each of the three mutually perpendicular ground vibration channels and the acoustic channel, the median value of all the units was used as a baseline for comparison. The six blasts monitored had median peak particle velocities ranging from 0.42 to 3.47 inches per second (in/s) (10.7 – 88.1 mm/s) and median airblasts ranging from 124 to 135 decibels (dB). There were 46 seismograph recordings for the six blasts. Eighteen (39%) of the 46 maximum peak particle velocities varied more than ±5% from the median. A total of 138 (3 × 46) component particle velocities were recorded, with 50 (36%) of the readings varying more than ±5% from the median. For airblast comparison, 43 recordings were obtained, with seven (16%) varying more than ±1 dB of the median. Variances may be attributable to blasting seismograph differences, variations in field deployment, and relative locations of the geophones. The Bureau of Mines, through its Minerals Availability Program (MAP), investigates the mineral supply potential of the United States and market economy countries (MEC's) for a number of minerals considered essential to the U.S. industrial base. Major activities include identification of important mines and mineral deposits, estimation of their mineral resources and production costs, and availability and sensitivity analyses. Products include data print-outs of geological and engineering information, discounted- cash-flow rate of return (DCFROR) analyses of individual mining operations, commodity availability appraisals, and analytic services to Government agencies. These products are used in assessing the mineral supply position of the United States: in setting priorities for research aimed at reducing production costs and minimizing adverse environ- mental impacts and regulatory compliance costs of mining and mineral processing operations; and in formulating and evaluating Government policies that affect minerals. Bureau MAP data and analyses have been provided to the executive and legislative branches to aid in consideration of trade, tax, and stockpile policy issues. A study of the economic potential of selected seabed mineral resources supports the regulatory responsibilities of the Department of the Interior in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone. Analytic studies of mineral project viability, industry competitiveness, and import dependencies were also undertaken for, or in cooperation with, U.S. and foreign government agencies, industry and trade organizations, and international lending institutions.

Mine drainage and mine reclamation are topics of major interest to the mining industry, federal and local governments, and the general public. This publication and its companion three volumes are the proceedings of a conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 24-29, 1994. There were twelve sessions (69 papers) that dealt with mine drainage, including modeling, geochemistry, prediction, treatment, control strategies, characterization, hydrology, and case studies. These sessions comprise volumes 1 and 2. The six sessions (34 papers) that dealt with reclamation and revegetation of disturbed lands are included in volume 3. Volume 4 includes the six sessions (34 papers) that dealt with such topical issues as fires at abandoned mine sites, subsidence, hydrology, mine wastes, and policy. Poster session presentations are represented by 49 papers and 92 abstracts that have been placed in the back of volumes 2, 3, and 4, consistent with the subject of that volume.

"Platinum-group minerals (PGM) typically occur in such low concentrations that quantitative mineralogical evaluation is difficult or impossible. The FEI MLA system used by Vale Base Metals Technology Development has been successfully employed to produce large PGM data sets that are statistically robust. The MLA Sparse Phase Liberation mapping routine produces false colored images that accurately document mineral textures, including intergrowths between various platinum group minerals and between PGMs and other tellurides and sulfides. MLA PGM search results can be used in conjunction with mineral chemistry to calculate platinumgroup element distribution to minerals and the MLA PGM images can be used to produce model grade-recovery curves.INTRODUCTIONThe platinum-group minerals (PGM) found in Sudbury area deposits have been extensively catalogued and reviewed by many authors including, but not limited to: Farrow and Lightfoot (2002), Cabri and Laflamme (1984; 1976) and Cabri (1981). The PGM list currently used has 12 minerals summarized in Table 1. As noted by Farrow and Lightfoot (2002), platinum-group minerals in Sudbury are dominated by tellurides, bismuth-tellurides and arsenides, with an absence of platinum-group element (PGE) sulphides or ferro-platinum alloys such as tetraferroplatinum - PtFe."

Bench stoping operations at the Isa Lead mine have been underway for over 11 years. They were implemented to address safety, productivity and mining cost concerns noted with cut and fill mining operations which were then being used to extract ore from the Racecourse orebodies. This paper describes the main features of benching operations at the Isa Lead mine and identifies the key elements for the success of the method. Four case histories are presented which highlight several of these factors.

The Oyu Tolgoi porphyry gold and copper project is located in the south Gobi region of Mongolia. The Ivanhoe Mines project has the potential to become a long-life copper and gold producer that could rank among the largest in the world. There are five deposits which cover a strike length in excess of 6.5 km, from south to north they are named South Oyu, Southwest Oyu, Central Oyu, Hugo South and Hugo North. The first three, collectively known as the Southern Oyu deposits, are planned to be mined by open pits, whilst extraction of the deeper Hugo deposits is planned using block caving techniques. The pits will have diameters of approximately 1000m and a maximum depth of 550m. The geological environment consists of a sequence of porphyritic augite basalt, dacitic tuffs and sedimentary rocks that have been intruded by several generations of porphyritic quartz monzodiorite and numerous post mineralization dykes. Several major faults cut through the southern deposits juxtaposing the relative position of the stratigraphy. The geotechnical investigation for the Oyu Tolgoi Open Pits was conducted in three distinct phases of increasing complexity: scoping study; advanced scoping study and feasibility study. Each phase consisted of data collection, interpretation and analysis designed to progressively develop 3D geotechnical domaining for the empirical, structural and numerical evaluations. The development of the geotechnical design parameters for these green fields open pits posed many technical challenges, brought about by the conditions associated with a lithologically and structurally complex environment. The design work focused on the optimization of the pit geometry to conform to equipment selection and blasting characteristics. Limiting bench stack heights were derived from the influence of major structures. The overall slope angles in each pit sector were developed around the requirement for haulage ramps and geotechnical berms. This paper describes each of these aspects and the methodology used to address the integration of the geotechnical characteristics with the mining environment.
