Tectonic stress is an important parameter for understanding the dynamics of underground engineering and for the exploitation of coalbed methane. Multiple-period structural features usually have complex spatial relationships in tectonic superposition areas, which provides evidence for identification of the sequence of the tectonic stress period. Conjugated joints and slickensides are used to reconstruct the tectonic stress of the No. 8 Mine in Pingdingshan. Based on the geological unit division and field measurements, data on hundreds of joints and slickensides are collected from 33 stations. The tectonic stress results indicated by the conjugated joints show that there are mainly four directions of tectonic stress: NEE-SWW, NW-SE, NE-SW, and NNESSW. The tectonic stress results of the slickensides indicate that there are mainly four directions of tectonic stress: NNE-SSW, NNW-SSE, NEE-SWW, and NW-SE. According to the systematic analysis of the joints and slickensides, this paper separates the superposed joint and slickenside sets and identifies the tectonic stress periods with their abutting relationships. Three tectonic stress periods are determined and the sequence of the tectonic stress periods is NE-SW, NW-SE, and NEE-SWW. The results are consistent with other tectonic stress measurements for both the region and the locality.

This international symposium was convened to assess the current state of knowledge concerning the health hazards that might be associated with the ingestion and inhalation of fibrous particles produced from the processing of taconite ore. Concern about fibrous particles in taconite arose from their similarities to amphibole asbestos minerals that are known to be human carcinogens. The mineralogical characteristics of asbestos fibers are reviewed and compared with the fibrous particles known to be present in taconite ore from the eastern end of the Iron Range. The epidemiological and experimental animal studies for asbestos-related disease (including gastrointestinal cancer from asbestos in dinking water)were critically evaluated andcompared to those of the fibrous minerals in the taconite. The focus was on the amphiboles in the cummingtonite?grunerite and tremolite?ferroactinolite series and other fibrous particles in both the Iron Range and the Duluth Complex. This included examination of the reported occurrence of any asbestiform ferroactinolite, crocidolite asbestos, chrysotile asbestos, etc. In addition, an effort was made to provide a scientific framework to address fibrous minerals, which may be associated with nonferrous mineral deposits in the Duluth Complex. State-of-the-art risk assessment models for asbestos were presented. Risk assessment scenarios were developed for taconite-derived fibers at environmental exposure levels related to the operation of the Silver Bay taconite processing facility. These calculated risks were found to be trivial even after it was assumed that all mineral fibers were as carcinogenic as amphibole asbestos.

Exposure?response relationships between the relative risk of lung cancer and quantitative measures of exposure to asbestos are available from a number of epidemiological studies. Meta-analyses of these relationships have been published by Lash et al. (1997) [Lash, T.L., Crouch, E.A.C., Green, L.C., 1997. A meta-analysis of the relation between cumulative exposure to asbestos and relative risk of lung cancer. Occup. Environ. Med. 54, 254?263] and Hodgson and Darnton (2000) [Hodgson, J.T., Darnton, A., 2000. The quantitative risks of mesothelioma and lung cancer in relation to asbestos exposure. Ann. Occup. Hyg. 44, 565?601]. In this paper, the risks derived in these meta-analyses have been compared. Lash et al., concentrated on process and found that the risk of lung cancer increased as the asbestos is refined by processing. Hodgson and Darnton concentrated on fibre type and found that the risk was highest for exposure to amphibole asbestos (crocidolite and amosite), lowest for chrysotile and intermediate for mixed exposure. Some of the differences between the conclusions from the two meta-analyses are a consequence of the choice of studies included. The range of asbestos types included in the studies in the analysis of Hodgson and Darnton was wider than that in Lash et al., enabling differences between fibre types to be analyzed more readily. There are situations where occupational exposure to chrysotile asbestos has shown no detectable increase in risk of lung cancer. The Hatch Mott MacDonald/Bechtel Joint Venture team is designer and construction manager for the 5.25-mile Tunnel Segment of the overall 16-mile Silicon ValleyRapid Transit Project, which extends the existing Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system southward from Fremont to San Jose. The Tunnel Segment includes twin boredtunnels, mined cross passages, and three deep station excavations situated in highlyvariable ground, high ground water table, and a dense urban setting with high-risebuildings adjacent to the largest excavation. This paper will discuss design challengesthat have arisen with the excavations and the proposed solutions.

In bump-prone coal mines, roof and rib support is subject to dynamic as well as static loading. Although less frequently encountered, the dynamic loading component can result in violent coal expulsions into openings seriously threatening the safety of workers. Dynamic support systems that have been increasingly implemented in many deep hard rock mines for dynamic failure containment have not yet found their adaptation to deep coal mines at desired levels. This paper examines the potential use of some of these dynamic support systems in deep coal mining, particularly in the western United States. Fundamental principles of dynamic loading are reviewed in the context of their application to dynamic failure mechanisms in coal mines. Potential benefits and applicability of the suitable hard rock dynamic support systems are discussed in relation to coal bump mitigation. The resulting insight provides a starting point for development of dynamic support elements for bump prone conditions in deep coal mines.

"Anglo American operates 18 Weir GEHO piston diaphragm pumps (PD) in the two pump stations of the 52-km (32-mile) long Minas Rio iron ore concentrate pipeline. The pipeline is designed to transport 26.5 Mt/a (29.2 million stpy) of concentrate from the mine to the export terminal at the coast.During the commissioning of the pipeline in the fall of 2014, high pressure pulsation levels were experienced, with peak-to-peak levels as high as 20 bar. Based on pressure readings it was concluded that hydraulic resonances were present in the system, which were excited by the third and sixth harmonic of the flow pulsation generated by the pumps.Based on this observation, Weir Minerals Netherlands, manufacturer of GEHO PD slurry pumps, recommended installing a phase shift controller that controls the phase shift between the crankshafts of the individual pumps, thereby minimizing the effect of the hydraulic resonances.GEHO piston diaphragm pumps and pressure pulsation analysisPiston diaphragm pumps are used worldwide to transport abrasive and/or aggressive slurries against high discharge pressures in the mining, mineral processing and power industries. The basic operating principle of a piston diaphragm pump is shown in Fig. 1.A crankshaft is driven by an external electric motor via a gearbox. The crank mechanism transfers the rotating motion of the crankshaft into a reciprocating motion of the piston. The piston displaces a hydraulic fluid, called the propeling liquid, which displaces an elastic rubber diaphragm. When the piston moves to the right, the pressure in the pump chamber drops below the suction pressure and the nonreturn valve on the suction side will open, allowing the pumped fluid to flow into the pump chamber. When the piston moves to the left, the fluid is compressed, and when the pump chamber pressure rises above the pipeline pressure, the nonreturn valve on the discharge side will open allowing a displacement of fluid into the discharge line. The main objective of the diaphragm is to isolate the piston and the drive mechanism from the abrasive and/or aggressive fluid and create a hermetic seal between the pumped fluid and the ambient environment. Piston diaphragm pumps as shown in Fig. 1 are among the largest positive displacement pumps in the world and have been produced with stroke volumes of up to 100 L (26 gal) per pump chamber for flow rates up to 800 m3/h, discharge pressures up to 250 bar and hydraulic outputs over 2 MW per unit (van Rijswick et al., 2010)."

To evaluate methane explosion hazards in longwall coal mines, a CFD model was developed along with a 1/40th-scale, optically accessible model of an underground longwall coal mining section. In this project, CFD models assisted in the design of the physical model to ensure specifications were met for accurately representing the scaling physics as well as to assist in narrowing the experimental matrix and identifying key locations for sensor placement to measure velocity, pressure, and gas concentrations. This research will help develop strategies for methane monitoring that prevent methane ignitions and explosions in longwall coal operations.

The proposed Caldecott fourth bore will consist of a two lane highway tunnel along California State Route 24 near the City of Oakland. The proposed design and construction sequence for the 15-m-diameter tunnel are based on the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). The initial support system incorporates combinations of shotcrete, rock dowels, lattice girders, spiles, and grouted steel pipe canopies. The final lining is cast-in-place reinforced concrete. A waterproofing membrane and drainage system are placed between the initial and final linings. State Route 24 is a lifeline route, required to be open to emergency vehicles within 72 hours after a major earthquake, defined as having a return period of 1,500 years and a peak ground acceleration of 1.2 g. Although the seismic design criteria are stringent, the design of the tunnel lining system is ultimately controlled by static ground loads in the weak rock along the alignment.

Gold-bearing outcrops were discovered in 1862 by Union soldiers garrisoned at Needles, CA, near the northwest corner of the future State of Arizona. Sporadic mining began several years later, but engineered shaft sinking and mill construction were not adopted at Oatman and the neighboring camp of Goldroad until about 1900. Geological interpretations in 1915 enabled major production during the next decade. In the late-1930s, USSR&M built a new mine and mill in Gold Road and the District flourished until closure by Federal Order L-208 in October 1942. For about a decade, Oatman’s mines were among the largest gold producers in the American West.

In underground mines worldwide, a large number of short and small diameter slot holes need to be excavated. Herrenknecht has developed and built a new boxholeboring machine based on the well-proven Microtunnellingpipe jacking technology. The innovative Boxhole Boring Machine significantly increases work safety and requires only minimal drift dimensions. The high and consistent production rates that can be achieved result in enormous time savings compared to conventional drill and blast excavations. GENERAL ASPECTS In gold, copper and ore mines ventilation shafts are required to prepare block caving operations, to discharge ore onto the transportation level and to provide evacuation shafts. A high level of occupational safety and efficiency is the main objective when drilling vertical or inclined shafts. The faster and more safely shafts can be constructed, the earlier the actual production in the mine can start or be continued. Mechanized or conventional methods (drill&blast) that have been used to date only partially meet the required safety standards and fail to provide the requested production rates.

Although salmonid fishes (including Pacific salmon and trout) have only intermediate sensitivity to copper (Cu) for traditional toxicity endpoints (survival, growth, and reproduction) and thus do not ?drive? the freshwater Cu criteria (e.g., see species-sensitivity ranking in US EPA 2007), Cu concentrations as low as 1 to 2 µg/L have been reported to impair olfaction (the sense of smell) in salmonids in laboratory experiments using dilute fresh water (see references in Meyer and Adams 2010 and DeForest et al. 2011). Olfaction is crucial to predator avoidance, recognition of kin, and reproductive synchronization (Baldwin et al. 2003); and Cu is of general ecotoxicological concern because it can be present in acid/mine rock drainage, industrial and municipal effluents, agricultural runoff, and urban stormwater runoff (Meyer et al. 2007). Therefore, there is public concern that the current regulation of Cu in surface waters is not stringent enough to protect salmonid fishes against olfactory impairment (e.g., OSU 2007; Pearson 2007). Because the toxicity of metals to aquatic organisms is a function of water chemistry [e.g., acute toxicity of Cu generally decreases as pH, water hardness (Ca2+ + Mg2+), alkalinity, and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations increase; Meyer et al. 2007], hardness-based freshwater criteria for metals are lower at lower water hardness. The recently-developed biotic ligand model (BLM) explicitly takes into account all four of those water chemistry parameters and the concentrations of other major inorganic cations (Na+, K+) and anions (Cl-, SO42-) to predict the acute toxicity of cationic metals (e.g., Ag, Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn) to aquatic organisms; and the BLM has been adopted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) to calculate acute and chronic national freshwater criteria for Cu (US EPA 2007). Consistent with observations of Cu toxicity to aquatic organisms, BLM-based Cu criteria generally are lower at lower pH, water hardness, alkalinity, and DOC concentrations. Therefore, although threshold concentrations for olfactory impairment by Cu can be low in dilute fresh waters, the corresponding hardness-based and BLM-based Cu criteria for the same waters also tend to be low. This leads to a logical question: Are Cu criteria already protective against impairment of olfaction in salmonid fishes, thus obviating the need to decrease those criteria even lower to protect against adverse effects to this physiological/ecotoxicological endpoint? Herein, we demonstrate that in all studies conducted to date, the US EPA?s BLM-based freshwater Cu criteria would have been protective against olfactory impairment in salmonid fishes, but the US EPA?s hardness-based criteria would not always have been protective. This distinction is important because all 50 States in the USA still use hardness-based Cu criteria in their water quality standards, and only some of the States allow use of the BLM to calculate site-specific Cu criteria. Additionally, in the absence of empirical results for calibration of a saltwater Cu-olfactory model, we demonstrate that a proposed unified freshwater-saltwater Cu-olfactory BLM predicts the US EPA?s current saltwater Cu criteria would be protective against olfactory impairment caused by Cu in sea water.

Dry separation was the predominant method of coal cleaning in the United States from the 1930s to 1980s. The application peak of dry separators for cleaning raw coal was in 1965, when about 23.1 Mt of cleaned bituminous coal was produced. The main advantage of dry coal cleaning is the elimination RIWKH GHZDWHULQJ VWDJHV DQG VLJQL¿FDQWO\ UHGXFHG moisture in comparison to wet processing. In addition, developed dust control systems have made dry cleaning method an environmentally friendly process. The largest air-based coal cleaning plant was built in Pennsylvania in 1968 and could clean 1,272 t/h of raw coal sized smaller than 19 mm. This was followed by a decline in dry coal cleaning to less than 3.6 Mt in 1988. Introduction The US has the largest total (364 Gt, or 401 billion st) and recoverable (182 Gt, or 201 billion st) coal reserves in the world (Steam/Its Generation and Use, 1978). However, progressive coal use in this country has been hampered by environmental constraints, such as restrictions on sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate emissions. Since the promulgation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), it has become apparent that all US coals will require sulfur removal to comply with the new sulfur dioxide emission levels. If more stringent emission standards are imposed, through pending acid rain legislation or amendments to the Clean Air Act, it is likely that the coal industry, and the industrial and utility sectors will look increasingly toward the development of new and advanced coal cleaning technologies to continue and promote the use of coal. Table 1 summarizes the EPA NSPS for sulfur dioxide emissions. Fortunately, the basis for determining sulfur dioxide removal is the Btu and total sulfur content of the run-of-mine coal. Thus, credit is given for any sulfur removed before combustion, e.g., through physical coal cleaning. Unfortunately, physical coal cleaning alone may be unable to produce a compliance coal with respect to the EPA NSPS. Therefore, all industrial and utility coal-fired boilers will require post combustion gas cleanup, e.g., flue gas desulfurization (FGD), to comply with the new regulations. Of these, chemical coal cleaning offers the advantages of providing (1) high quality fuel for combustion (low sulfur and ash, high Btu, and attenuated product variability); (2) a solid fuel product for use in retrofitted gas and oil boilers; and (3) a solid fuel product with multiple end uses, e.g., internal combustion engines, carbon electrodes, coke, or chemical feedstock. Gravimelt process In the Gravimelt process, 1.4 mm x 0 (14 mesh x 0), physically beneficiated coal of about 5% moisture is fed into a 3401 to 3901 C (644 ° to 734 ° F) molten bath of sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Organic and pyritic sulfur and most of the mineral matter in coal react with and are dissolved in a molten mixture of potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide. The reacted coal sulfur is converted to alkali sulfides and polysulfides, whereas the mineral matter is apparently converted to alkali-aluminum silicates and other byproducts that are water and acid soluble. Coal residence time is 60 to 240 minutes. The sodium hydroxide to potassium hydroxide ratio is about 9:1. The total hydroxide-to-coal ratio is no less than 10:1. The specific gravity of the caustic melt is about 1.8 g/cm3 . Thus, coal is buoyant in the bath, and insoluble mineral matter with density greater than 1.8 g/cm3 would sink. Reacted coal is first water-washed with an equal weight volume of water in a countercurrent mode of operation. The coal is filtered and the filtrate sent for regeneration. The coal is then acid-washed in 10% sulfuric acid. The acid-water/coal mixture is filtered to recover the final coal product, and the filtrate treated with lime to precipitate dissolved mineral matter. The precipitate is filtered from the mixture and discarded. The water is recycled to the plant. Filtrate from water-washing is treated to remove sodium sulfide. The sodium sulfide is chemically treated to produce hydrogen sulfide, calcium car¬bonate, sodium hydroxide, and other products. The hydrogen sulfide is treated to produce sulfuric acid for the acid-washing step. The calcium carbonate is treated further or discarded, and the sodium hydroxide is concentrated by evaporation and recycled to the reactor. The Gravimelt process is currently at the bench-scale stage of development. A 0.9-kg (2-lb) continuous reactor is in operation with a continuous water- and acid-washing section adjacent. The regeneration section is not developed to a meaningful extent, although key reactions have been tested in the laboratory. Process conditions, product recovery efficiencies, etc., however, have not been determined adequately and continuous regeneration operation has not been attempted. Work is now in progress to develop each section to a continuous bench-scale operation in processing coal at 9.1 kg/h (20 lb per hr). Microwave process The carbon and hydrogen in coal are relatively transparent to microwave radiation. However, water, caustic, pyrite, and other mineral matter components are strong conductors of microwave radiation energy at the proper frequency. As a result, selective heating of the noncarbonaceous materials occurs that enables the chemical reaction of sulfur and ash with caustic. Although very high temperatures may result from

Cable shovel requires continuous monitoring through excavation to achieve reliability, longevity and economic usage. The operating environment and the stress and deformation fields on the front-end assembly must continually be monitored to avoid random fatigue failure. In this paper, the authors advance frontiers of cable shovel reliability through real-time stress and deformation monitoring during excavation. Cable shovel boom stress and deformation analysis are developed using a combination of flexible and rigid body approach. A virtual prototype is developed to simulate the cable shovel excavation in oil sands and to examine the motion, stress and local deformation of the boom. A numerical example is used examine cable shovel boom durability using stress and deformation fields simulation. The results show that stress and deformation are large around the joint between the upper body and the boom. The simulation of the effect of material properties on boom deformation shows that the deformation is larger in hard formation than in soft formation. The study provides a solid foundation for further study of failure life analysis of the cable shovel components.

Background Population growth and increasingly stringent regulatory controls on water quality across North America have resulted in municipal governments investing heavily in infrastructure to control what are known as Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs).These are events which occur when combined sewers exceed their conveyance capacity during periods of heavy rainfall or snowmelt. The city of Atlanta, Georgia is one such municipality; with a population of over450,000 within city limits and a sewer system servicing 1.2 million including adjacent jurisdictions, the City of Atlanta has a Combined Sewer System (CSS) encompassing approximately 15% of its total 3,540 km (2,200 miles) of sewers. Atlanta’s CSO discharges to local watercourses began to draw fire from environmental groups in the1980s. As a result, in the early 1990s, the City constructed a series of CSO control facilities which provided screening and chlorination at seven CSO discharge points across the CSS watershed. Unfortunately, these facilities were not capable of handling all of the overflows generated due to heavy storm events; frequently, untreated water was bypassed around the treatment facilities. The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) deemed that water quality standards were being violated by these discharges, and a suit was brought against the City to force a higher standard of compliance. As a result, the City entered into a federal Consent Decree which would bring CSOs into compliance with federal standards by 2007. A critical component of this plan was the design and construction of the West Area CSO Tunnels and Pumping Station. In February 2003 the City’s Department of Watershed Management retained the services of Jordan Jones & Goulding/Hatch Mott MacDonald/Delon Hampton Associates (JDH Joint Venture) to design and provide construction management ser-vices for the project, which was designed to capture combined sewage from three of the City’s existing CSO facilities on the northern end of the CSS watershed. The design consisted of two connected tunnels which would convey the wastewater originating from the North Avenue, Clear Creek, and Tanyard Creek CSO facilities to a submersible wet well pumping station located at the R.M. Clayton Water Reclamation Center (WRC). Since the majority of the effluent stream consisted of storm water, the City elected to design and construct a separate treatment plant. This plant was designed under a separate contract, and is currently under construction.

This paper is a follow-up to the paper presented at the SME meeting in April of 1996. Since then, the El Abra facility has been started up, 9 months ahead of schedule, and has processed about 45 million tons of ore and produced over 700 million pounds of copper. For those unfamiliar with the El Abra materials handling and leaching facilities, a brief overview of the facility is provided. The paper will then deal in detail with such aspects of Conveyor 103, the long regenerative overland conveyor, including: actual running resistance starting and stopping procedures emergency brake test at 10,000 t/h Additionally, we shall take the opportunity to report on a catastrophic culvert collapse in October 1996, which stopped the conveyor abruptly at full speed and under high load condition, causing a belt breakage. We would like to use this opportunity to thank the management of El Abra and Cyprus Amax for providing assistance and allowing us to present this paper. The El Abra team deserves a great compliment for building this one billion dollar facility in record time in a remote area of a high-altitude desert with no existing infrastructure, and for bringing it so quickly up to full operating capacity. The El Abra management had to assemble a completely new operator team. Considering the above circumstances, it took a great effort by all involved to achieve success. The official performance test which was required by the lending banks was successfully concluded in November 1997.

Over the years, screen bowl centrifuges have been widely used for dewatering fine coal in coal preparation plants in the United States and elsewhere. Its popularity is attributed to its relatively low cost, its high capacity of providing low moisture content product and its relative ease of operation and maintenance. It is generally recognized in the engineering and scientific communities that screen bowl centrifuges provide some degree of particle size separation while dewatering fine coal in a common application. However, the extent of differential partitioning of coarse and fine particles achievable by a screen bowl centrifuge has not been systematically studied in the past. The present investigation was aimed at conducting a parametric study using a statistically designed experimental program to better understand and optimize the size classification performance of a screen bowl centrifuge. A continuously operating screen bowl centrifuge having a bowl diameter of 0.5 m was used for this study at the Illinois Coal Development Park. Three key operating parameters, i.e., feed flow rate, feed solid content and pool depth, were varied to conduct a total of 17 experiments using a three-level factorial test matrix. Some of the best size separation performances achieved in this study may be described as having an imperfection value of 0.13 at an effective separation size (d50c) of 38 µm and an imperfection value of 0.27 at an effective separation size (d50c) of 2.8 µm. Due to an effective separation of ultrafine high ash materials, the ash content of the screen bowl feed was reduced from 22.3% to a minimum of 8.84% with a combustible recovery of 84.1% and an ash rejection of 71.6%. A higher combustible recovery of 92.1% was achieved at a product ash content of 12.5% with a d50c of 2.8 µm and imperfection of 0.27.

The Reserve Mining Co., in the processing of taconite iron ore quarried from the Peter Mitchell Pit, deposited the finely crushed waste rock into Lake Superior near Silver Bay Minnesota. In the early 1970s The U.S. Environmental Protection agency filed a lawsuit against Reserve Mining Co., asking the court to force the company to stop dumping into the lake. On April 20, 1974, after a lengthy court battle, the U.S. District Court concluded that the Reserve Mining discharge into Lake Superior violated federal and state pollution laws and thus ordered Reserve Mining Co., to halt the lake disposal of taconite tailings. At the time many feared that some of the mineral particles contained in the tailings (alleged to be asbestos or asbestos-like) would cause human health problems. This Conference was thus convened to readdress the problem of the mineral content of the Biwabik Iron Formation and to whether any minerals contained in the ore could cause human disease. The four papers given in this session address the nature of the mineral particles in the taconite rock, the definition of the term ??asbestos?? and the history of the legal controversy over the possible health effects of certain mineral particles contained in the Biwabik iron range ores. The unaltered iron deposits, called taconite, contain approximately 30% iron and 50% SiO2. About 75% of the iron in taconite resides in the mineral magnetite, the remainder is largely in iron carbonate and several iron-silicate minerals.

Flotation separation and recovery of value minerals from ores containing fibrous silicate minerals are known to be quite challenging. Earlier studies have established that the metallurgical challenges (poor selectivity and recovery, high energy consumption, etc.) arise from the impact of the fibrous minerals (with high aspect ratio) on pulp rheology, which was found be rather complex. The complex rheological behavior of ore suspensions containing particles with high aspect ratio and its influence on flotation outcome are investigated in this study. Flotation tests and rheological measurements were carried out with both ores (containing fibrous minerals) and a model system comprising nylon fibers (chemically inert) added to a copper ore that had no fibrous mineral. These studies allowed the determination of contributions of physical properties of the fiber to pulp rheological behavior. Optical microscopy images of the fiber pulp indicated that the fibers entangled to form two levels of microstructures: two-dimensional (2D) aggregates under semi-dilute (< 20% solids) conditions and three-dimensional (3D) microstructures at concentrations > 30% solids. The yield stress (σ) values determined for the fiber pulp were logarithmically related to the volume fraction of the 2D/3D structures. The relationships developed here for different ARs showed that the yield stress of a flotation pulp changes with respect to shape, size, and the concentrations of the microstructures. Implications to the effects of such entangle networks on selectivity of flotation separation are discussed.
