Gold mines produce unique water treatment requirements. This paper focuses on case studies of innovative processes used for treatment of water resulting from gold mining and processing. The case studies include treatment of mine dewatering water for beneficial application from an Australian gold mine, Bendigo Mining, as well as treatment for arsenic removal of tailings water from mining and processing at Goldcorp mines in Canada. Gold mining can often require dewatering to prevent groundwater seeping into and flooding the mine workings. Gold mining and processing often accumulate wastewaters in a tailings dam. The mine water can contain contaminants such as dissolved salts, iron, arsenic, manganese, heavy metals and odorous sulfates. Environmental discharge requirements as well as community needs for water drive mine operators to consider the most appropriate water treatment process. Treatment of gold mine water can require processes including oxidation, pH adjustment, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, further oxidation/adsorption of specific metals such as manganese, filtration, salt reduction utilising reverse osmosis, brine minimisation and other innovative technologies. These processes are discussed through the case studies with examination of the specific treatment process that is required. This paper uses real case studies of gold water treatment processes to explain and examine the technology and the reasons for designing specific processes. The focus is toward explaining innovative processes where the water is used for sustainable environmental discharge or treatment to a quality that can be beneficially used by the local community.

Due to the steep geo-thermal gradient in Bowen Basin area, as underground coalmines reach increased depths of extraction, the Bulk Air Cooling (BAC) requirements will increase as opposed to cooling the workplace using the ventilation means alone. One such mine has already been using a 4 MW surface BAC plant for the last six years to manage the working temperatures with reduced cooling efficiency as the mine expands. Due to the horizontal nature of the longwall mine layout, distances from the working face to intake shafts are rapidly expanding to over 6 km as opposed to the vertical mine layout of a hard rock mine. To improve the positional cooling efficiency, reduced panel pressure differentials, improved rib emission gas management, and intake dust management, small diameter intake shafts were located on the inbye end of production panels and halfway up the development panels with localised mobile small BAC plants. THIS has been a much-neglected branch of engineering. With the majority of industries labour is the chief item of trouble and expense. Anything that will reduce trouble and increase efficiency is well worth considering. It is only of recent years that any attempt has been made on a scientific basis to improve conditions sporadic attempts having been made from time to time, privately and by law. Some have been successful, others unsuccessful not necessarily the fault of those who initiated the ideas, though naturally mistakes were made in some cases for want of experience, but those whom it was desired to benefit were not always prepared for the change, and by their distrust hampered schemes instead of assisting them.Man power is generally more expensive than machinery, though there are exceptions, such as when a small amount of work has to be done in a place where machinery does not exist, and it would not pay to instal any or where labour is cheap, and skilled workmen are scarce as in some tropical countries. When machinery is first introduced it generally causes the suspicion that it will deprive men of their work. It may cause men to vary the conditions of their work, and in some individual cases, when men are unable to conform to changed circumstances it may result in a certain amount of hardship; but, after all, the less competent must not hold back progress for the general good. This study is a continuation of previous work in which the responses of tall structures to close-in construction blasting at two rock excavation sites are evaluated. A total of eight buildings were instrumented to calculate blast-induced wall strains. Of these structures, five high-rise buildings measuring 166 ft (51 m) to 294 ft (90 m) in height (15 to 24 stories), were included for this study and compared with the results of previous studies that included one to three story residential structures and mid-rise structures (four to six stories). All five structures were built between 1908 and 1940 with interior walls comprising aged plaster. Three of the structures are designated Landmark, subject to a 0.5 in/s (12.7 mm/s) regulated peak particle velocity (PPV) limit. The regulated PPV limit for the two other structures was 2.0 in/s (50.8 mm/s). To date, a total of 450 close-in construction blasts have taken place over six months at the two adjacent projects, blasting three to six times per day at each site. Seismograph instrumentation included tri-axial geophones in the ground and bi-axial geophones (horizontal components only) mounted on structure exteriors at the corners closest to blasting. Peak global wall tensile strains were calculated from time-correlated differential structure displacements in two horizontal directions as measured by upper and lower geophones mounted near the roof and at street levels. Wall strains were correlated with ground excitations to establish a stiffness factor for each structure defined as the upper bound linear regression slope for strain as a function of ground displacement. In addition, a structure-specific regression best-fit function was established to relate horizontal components of displacement to velocity. These two functions were used to determine the maximum ground motion velocity for a desired limit placed on wall strain. A 25 ?-strain limit was suggested for both projects to protect interior plaster walls. To date, global wall strains have not exceeded 0.53 ?-strains (or 47 times the project limit) for peak particle velocities up to 3.49 in/s (88.6 mm/s). This demonstrates the low strain response of tall structures to ground velocities well above regulated limits. The stiffness factor computed for the most flexible high-rise building was 688 in-1 (17475 mm-1). In comparison, stiffness factors for the most flexible residential and mid-rise structures previously studied were 8651 in-1 (219735 mm-1) and 4387 in-1 (111430 mm-1), respectively. Based on a large number of measurements made at these study structures, the maximum horizontal ground velocity needed to achieve 25 ?-strains in walls ranged from 36 in/s (914 mm/s) to 192 in/s (4877 mm/s) because of the high stiffness of these buildings. Such high amplitudes of ground vibrations can never be safely achieved during close-in blasting in urban environments. These excessive values stand to show how unfounded the current limits of 0.5 in/s (12.7 mm/s) and 2.0 in/s (50.8 mm/s) are when applied to massive, tall structures. This study demonstrated that upper structure motions are highly attenuated from the lower (street-level) motions because of the long travel distances up the buildings. High-rise structures are far stiffer than mid-rise and residential structures and can withstand ground vibration amplitudes far greater than the currently enforced blasting limits in New York City.

A five steps remediation program was commissioned in 1998 for the acid generating Lorraine mine site, located in the Témiscamingue region, Quebec, Canada. It included, as the main expenditure, a cover with capillary barrier effects (CCBE) used to limit oxygen migration. After construction of the cover, instruments were installed on site to monitor the CCBE performance. Modified oxygen consumption tests were also done to measure the oxygen flux through the cover. Results from water content and suction data, measured from 1999 to 2003, show that the capillary barriers effects are effective and that the water retention layer stays near saturation throughout the years. Oxygen fluxes estimated from monthly water content measures are generally below 10 g/m2/year. Results from modified oxygen consumption tests made on the site give almost similar oxygen fluxes. A two dimension numerical model of the Lorraine mine site was also constructed to verify that mathematical models could predict realistically the in situ conditions on such a large scale site. Numerical results obtained for three years show a good concordance between measured and calculated values. The results obtained form these different evaluation methods for the performance of a CCBE concur and confirm the efficiency of this cover in limiting acid mine generation.

Along with increased production from longwall units has come the likelihood of increased worker noise exposures. In recent years, equipment has become larger, more powerful, and noisier than its predecessors. For these reasons, the Mining Division of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is investigating worker noise exposure on longwall faces and researching possible solutions to reduce this exposure. Part of this research effort involves studying the effect of covering the underside of longwall shields with acoustical material to reduce reverberating noise along the face. Experiments using acoustical absorptive insulation to cover the undersides of the shields, shearer body, and the shield supports were conducted at the full scale simulated long-wall test facility located at the Pittsburgh Research Center. Sound levels were recorded every 1.5 m [5 fl] along a 15.2 m [50 ft] section of the simulated face for all of the conditions tested. The analysis of the data indicated that a 2.0-3.0 dBA noise reduction was achieved between the shearer drums and a 4.0-5.5 MA attenuation was attained upwind of the headgate drum.

Prior to rehabilitation, plant cover on quartz gravel overburden at Wangaloa coal mine was highly patchy. Stabilisation techniques have since considerably altered the condition of the main overburden yet deposits in the east and west remain largely intact. On the eastern overburden, three distinct zones of revegetation have naturally developed: Zone 1 represents a dense plant cover, Zone 2 a patchy cover and Zone 3 a sparse cover of isolated plants. Aerial photographs show much of the eastern overburden was deposited between 1940 and 1960s. Yet we found that the temporal scale of deposition did not wholly account for the differences observed in vegetation development. To investigate other influential factors, we set up 12 study plots using four replicates in each vegetation zone. The diversity and density of plants in each plot were measured to quantify the degree of vegetation development. Samples from the substrate in each plot were collected using soil cores to a depth of 10 cm. Cores were analysed for indicators of nutrient availability, metal content and physical composition. We found that substrate chemistry varied between individual study plots, but showed little difference overall along the vegetation gradient. Substrate physical differences were much greater. The ratio of coarse quartz pebbles: fines was considerably higher in Zone 3 than other zones, and within zones where plants were not growing. Bulk density also increased successively from Zone 1 - 3. We found clear evidence for the reversed stratigraphy of excavation superimposed over the time scale of deposition, and the corresponding nature of fine particles. The rate of revegetation was therefore highly dependent upon the substrate composition of the last surface deposit from the dumping truck. Our data suggests an optimum ratio exists between inert coarse material and a fine matrix for progressive natural vegetation development on mine substrates.

A sulphide ion selective electrode (ISE) is suitable for control of sodium sulphide additions in flotation because it has a rapid response to changeS in S2- concentrations, can indicate -low concentrations at differentpH values, suffers from few interferences, and is robust enou'gh to use in a pulp. Three sulphidization techniques were studied using the lSE electrode for measurement and/or control of S2- levels. Metallurgy was assessedfrom concentrate grades and copper recovery.With slug additions of sodium sulphide, sulphidizing conditions were poorly defined and reproducibility tended to be poor. Although acceptable metallurgy could be achieved by multiple additions, sodium sulphide consumption was high.Controlled potential sulphidization readily gave good metallurgy. The optimum potential of the lSE for sulphidizing was about -500 mV versus SCE, but depended on sulphidization and flotation times; suitable times were3 and 5 min respectively for three to five stages. Application of this technique to previously untested ores gave good metallurgy in a first test in spite of variation by a factor of three in the sodium sulphide requirements ofthe ores.Simultaneous sulphidization and flotation was satisfactory when conducted at an lSE potential of -450 mV versus SCE. Mixed cha!copyrite-oxide copper ores responded satisfactorily.Besides optimizing sulphidization conditions it is also necessary to optimize xanthate additions (e.g. by measuring xanthate residuals).

The waste-heat boiler is used within the Sulphide flash smelting process as the main dust and energy recovery unit. The large volume of off-gas discharged from the flash smelter is at a very high temperature (1350°C) and contains a significant dust load that subjects the downstream waste-heat boiler to tough and demanding conditions. The boiler cavity is especially prone to dust accretions, fouling, and corrosion caused by accumulation of molten particles and precipitation of sulphuric acid. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is applied within a qualitative study to model the flow and heat transfer distribution throughout the waste-heat boiler. The commercial CFD package, Fluent 6.2.16, was applied to a modified waste-heat boiler (23 m ×11 m ×5.4 m) within the Outokumpu flash smelting process. This investigation focuses on the geometric modifications to the typical boiler design, which includes elevation of the ceiling, placement of flow-obstructing baffles and radiation plates parallel within the flow path. Also investigated were various boiler operating conditions such as the circulation of process off-gas, air leakage from the dust discharging hoppers and variation in inlet gas composition. The geometric modifications had the desired effect of increasing the volumetric utilization and therefore enhancing heat transfer between the boiler surface and the gas stream and dust segregation. Introducing circulated off-gas at a rate of 20 m/s and at a 45° angle to the front of the waste boiler further enhanced cooling while reducing the high impact of the furnace-uptake gas-stream on the boiler ceiling. The placement of radiation plates was found to be very effective in enhancing the heat transfer surface and distributing gas flow within the boiler. "Those who submit competing proposals for projects seek to present senior management with complete and fully supported material that will not fail under questioning. Hopefully, misleading notions and omissions will have been minimized and there will have been testing of the assumptions regarding the economic, social and political environments. A capital project evaluation team can do management and itself a service by including a sound approach to the impact of inflation (and its twin problem, interest) on a project and a great disservice with an inappropriate approach to inflation.InflationHandled deftly, inflation can alter a project evaluation to show almost any result the handler desires. It must be a constant source of frustration for design people and cost estimators to spend weeks perfecting the technical aspects of a project in order to minimize costs, only to have all of their efforts set awash in a sea of financial and economic assumptions that submerge all of the detail. In all of this, inflation is perhaps the largest offender, with inflation criteria often being brought to bear at the last minute, almost as an afterthought. Perhaps this tardiness reflects the difficulty of the subject and the belief that senior management will take its own approach to the problems of inflation. Such a belief is unfair to senior management, for it is entitled to not being misled by omission. It is entitled to the full use of the skills of the evaluating team, including respectable assumptions of the impact of inflation.Working in a consulting context, one has the opportunity to participate in the evaluation of a large number of projects. Reflecting the observation of a wide range of views regarding the subject of inflation, this paper will-address the impact of five different approaches to inflation on the evaluation of a single Canadian mining project."

The Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA, or the Act) was enacted on August 3, 1977. The Act was written, in part, to put an end to uneven environmental standards and to establish minimum national standards. Certainly, one of the motivating factors for passage of the Act was the success of the Federal Coal Mining Health and Safety Act of 1969 in reducing deaths and injuries in the coal industry nationwide. Section 516 (b) (1) of the Act requires *that subsidence be prevented from causing material damage to the extent technologically and economically feasible except in those instances where the mining technology requires planned subsidence in a predictable and controlled manner. Section 516 (c) of the Act authorizes the regulatory authority to suspend underground mining if there is imminent danger to inhabitants of urbanized areas, cities, towns, and communities. On December 13, 1977, the interim program, which applies a portion of the performance standards of the Act, was promulgated. Then on September 18, 1978, the proposed permanent program was published for public comment. Finally, on March 13, 1979, the final permanent program was promulgated and the States were given a period of time to submit their programs for approval.

Roof support systems are necessary to provide stable mine openings and much research has been conducted to design a variety of roof support systems that will function in various manners to ensure that stable ground conditions are achieved. Despite these advancements in technology, mistakes continue to be made in the evaluation and/or installation that significantly degrade the support capability or lead to erroneous determinations of support expectations. The purpose of this paper is to discuss misconceptions about how roof supports perform and factors that impact their performance. The goal is to present practical information that will assist mine operators and engineers in selecting, installing, and evaluating roof support systems properly, and help them to avoid mistakes that can lead to erroneous expectations and potentially catastrophic results that may lead to roof falls. The paper is limited to a discussion of secondary roof support systems and powered roof supports such as longwall shields.

The Watershed tungsten deposit is located in the Hodgkinson Province of north Queensland, Australia. The deposit is hosted by Siluro-Devonian flysch-type meta-sediments of the Hodgkinson Formation, which were subjected to four major deformation events. Mineralisation has occurred syn- to post-D4 and is related to the intrusion of S-type granitoids of the Permian Whypalla Supersuite.Watershed is located within a regional NW–SE-striking melange zone composed of brecciated and intermixed arenites and shales. The major NW–SE-striking Tullah fault zone is situated in close proximity to the east of the deposit.The Watershed deposit occurs within a tightly folded upright anticline with NW-plunging fold axis. The anticline contains a major package of coarse-grained to conglomeratic arenite, which harbours the Watershed mineralisation. Several alteration styles occur within the arenites, of which Fe-poor calc-silicate alteration dominated by clinozoisite/epidote is the most significant. Less widespread but locally important alteration styles comprise garnet-dominated calc-silicate alteration, albitisation and sericitisation. The arenites are enveloped by unmineralised carbonaceous shales and shale breccias.Tungsten mineralisation occurs solely as molybdenum-poor scheelite and can be found as three styles: disseminated mineralisation in calc-silicate altered arenites, vein-style mineralisation with quartz-albite-scheelite veins and minor but high-grade mineralisation in albitised felsic dykes.Contact metamorphic rocks and geophysical data indicate the proximity of an underlying granitic body. It is believed that this granitic body was the main driver of the hydrothermal system generating the Watershed deposit. An early mineralisation stage caused the selective calc-silicate alteration of the arenites, while a second stage caused the vein-style high-grade mineralisation. The folded shales enveloping the arenites worked as an effective barrier that kept the mineralising fluids in a confined rock volume.The scheelite mineralisation at Watershed is open to depth, with a granite-hosted porphyry or greisen-style mineralisation anticipated below the current resource.CITATION:Griessmann, M and Williamson, J, 2015. "SynopsisThe need to reduce weight while maintaining good mechanical properties in materials used in the automotive industry has over the years seen an increased exploitation of various steels to meet this new demand. In line with this development, the ferritic stainless steel family has seen a wide application in this industry, with the AISI 436 type increasingly being used for automotive trims and mufflers for exhaust systems, as well as a significant part of this steel’s application being for the manufacture of wheel nuts and wheel nut caps in trucks, mainly through the deep drawing process. However, there have been reports of some poor surface roughening of this material during deep drawing, with tearing and/or cracking also reported in some instances. This has been suspected to possibly be associated with some local differences in localized mechanical properties between grains and grain clusters of the rolled and annealed material.In order to investigate the poor surface roughness exhibited by AISI 436 ferritic stainless steel (FSS) during deep-drawing, Lankford values (R-mean and ?r), grain size, and microtextures of various sheet samples from this steel were studied. The chemical composition range for the samples was 0.013–0.017% C, 17–17.4% Cr, 0.9–1% Mo, and 0.4–0.5% Nb. The steels were subjected to various hot and cold rolling processing routes i.e. involving industrial direct rolling (DR) or intermediate annealing rolling (IR), and the drawability and final surface qualities of the steels were compared. It was found that the DR route gave an average R-mean and ?r value of 1.9 and -1.4 respectively, while the IR route yielded an average Rmean and ?r value of 1.6 and 0.52 respectively. The high ?r value for the DR processing route had a substantial adverse effect on the drawability. IR samples exhibited a smoother surface finish on visual inspection, while clear flow lines were visible on the DR samples, despite the fact that DR is the preferred industrial processing route due to the reduced production costs it offers. This observation was also confirmed through SEM examinations. The difference in the surface quality was attributed to microtexture. However, the mechanism responsible for this difference still needs to be identified."

The Permian Cutler Formation in Kane Creek, Utah bears uranium ore in fissure-type vertical veins. This fissure vein formation and its associated host rock bleaching, weak argillic alteration, and base-metal sulfide mineralization along with the development of hydrothermal minerals, a 60 m.y. isotopic Pb/U age, and well-crystallized uraninite's structural control, give evidence of ore deposition in a hydrothermal environment consistent with Laramide mineralization. Mica polymorph studies indicate first, that temperature during the hydrothermal alteration or subsequent ore deposition did not exceed 200°; hence Cutler deposits are classified telethermal; and secondly, that rock alteration and ore deposition are closely related both in time and space, as is seen in argillic alteration sequence. Ore deposition in an alkaline to slightly acid reducing environment is postulated. Ore textures and mineral associations and distributions also indicate that carbonate complexes may have been transported with the deposing ores. Bleached rock formations are not primary strati-graphic phenomena. Bleaching, or changes in ferric iron content, results from a chemical process involving reduction and conversion of hematite to a soluble aqueous ion. Nearby Chinle bedded deposits (Moss Rack sandstone), containing shale lenses, fossil wood, organic debris and minor fractures, overly the Cutler formation. Chinle ores have a single reported isotopic age of approximately 200 m.y. Their chemical environment is assumed similar to that of the Cutler ores, though slightly more acidic. Two genetic, paradoxically divergent interpretations of the bedded deposits are derived from available spectrographic, petrographic, X-ray and chemical analyses. Kane Springs canyon is located southwest of Moab, Utah, south of the Colorado River and northwest of the Lisbon Valley mining district (Fig. 1). Uranium deposits occur along the northeast flank of a Kane Creek salt anticline where two geologic formations bear ore, the Permian Cutler and the Triassic Chinle. The Cutler deposits' fissure vein formation is an unusual occurrence in the Colorado Plateau. The Chinle deposits appear to be of the normal sedimentary type. Associated with the vein deposits are a number of features, including argillic alteration of sedimentary strata. The minerals of these deposits and their associated features have been studied in detail in a two year program entailing both field and laboratory techniques. STRATIGRAPHY A stratigraphic section of the lithologic units in the Kane Creek area is given in Table I.

Conventional stoping in hard rock mining is largely considered an operational environment. This paper suggests that stoping falls within the realm of a project management environment typified by uncertainty, variation, and large numbers of interdependencies. Stoping was then equated to a micro-project with many simultaneous activities that had to be executed accurately using finite resources within limited shift durations in order to reach specific goals. Critical chain project management (CCPM) principles were applied to the stoping activities, and the results showed that the number of blasts per panel can be significantly increased by successfully moving the distribution of work as close as possible to the start of shift. Critical chain principles also assisted in facilitating re-focusing and teamwork among stoping crews as well as between day- and night-shift crews. The main recorded success was in managing inherent protective capacities/local contingencies/fat/buffers that are found in all projects. The impact on mine health and safety (MHS) was significant as individual operators and crews became convinced that they could perform all stoping tasks (activities) without compromising accuracy or speed.

This international symposium was convened to assess the current state of knowledge concerning the health hazards that might be associated with the ingestion and inhalation of fibrous particles produced from the processing of taconite ore. Concern about fibrous particles in taconite arose from their similarities to amphibole asbestos minerals that are known to be human carcinogens. The mineralogical characteristics of asbestos fibers are reviewed and compared with the fibrous particles known to be present in taconite ore from the eastern end of the Iron Range. The epidemiological and experimental animal studies for asbestos-related disease (including gastrointestinal cancer from asbestos in dinking water)were critically evaluated andcompared to those of the fibrous minerals in the taconite. The focus was on the amphiboles in the cummingtonite?grunerite and tremolite?ferroactinolite series and other fibrous particles in both the Iron Range and the Duluth Complex. This included examination of the reported occurrence of any asbestiform ferroactinolite, crocidolite asbestos, chrysotile asbestos, etc. In addition, an effort was made to provide a scientific framework to address fibrous minerals, which may be associated with nonferrous mineral deposits in the Duluth Complex. State-of-the-art risk assessment models for asbestos were presented. Risk assessment scenarios were developed for taconite-derived fibers at environmental exposure levels related to the operation of the Silver Bay taconite processing facility. These calculated risks were found to be trivial even after it was assumed that all mineral fibers were as carcinogenic as amphibole asbestos.

De ese modo cumplir con el objetivo primordial de las salidas de emergencia de 200 m hasta la superficie, en terrenos de calidad de roca regular a mala.

The thick alluvial sand and gravel deposits along the base of the San Gabriel mountain range in Southern California area have been mined for construction aggregates for over 100 years. Encroachment of high-density urban populations in this area has led to concentrated mining in a handful of open pit mines with single production faces reaching up to 55 m (175 ft) in height, and long transportation distances from the pit to the processing plant. Aggregate producers have responded to these challenges by developing innovative mining systems which enable low-cost, full-face mining of the alluvial material, and low cost delivery of this material to the plant.

Human-caused global warming has become the environmental cause celebre of the early 21st century. The strong warming alarmist camp currently includes the United Nations, most Western governments, most of the free press, many large corporations (including Enron, before it failed), the major churches, most scientific organisations and a large portion of general public opinion. This phalanx of support notwithstanding there is no scientific consensus as to the danger of human-induced climate change. There is, therefore, a strong conflict between the level of public alarm and its scientific justification. How can this be? In a democracy, the media serve to convey to the public the facts and hypotheses of climate change as provided by individual scientists, governmental and international research agencies, and NGO and other lobby groups. In general, the media have promulgated an alarmist cause for climate change; they have certainly failed to convey the degree of uncertainty that is characteristic of climate science, or a balanced summary of the many essential facts that are relevant to human causation. Climate change is as much a geological as it is a meteorological issue. Natural climate changes, both warmings and coolings, are indeed a societal hazard. We usually deal with geological hazards by providing civil defence authorities and the public with accurate, evidence-based, general information about events like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and floods, and then by adapting to the effects when a damaging event occurs. As for other major natural disasters, the appropriate preparation for extreme climate events is to mitigate and manage the negative effects when they occur, and especially so for dangerous coolings. Attempting instead to æstop climate changeÆ by reducing human carbon dioxide emissions is a costly exercise of utter futility. Rational climate policies must be based on adaptation to dangerous change as and when it occurs, and irrespective of its sign or causation. The issue now is no longer climate change as such, the reality of which will always be with us. Rather, the issues are, first, the failure of the free press to inform the public about the true facts of human-caused climate change and of the dangers posed by natural climate change. And, second, the vested interests held by many of the groups of warming alarmists. These interests include not only the obvious commercial ones, but also the many scientists and science managers who have discounted or remained silent about the huge uncertainties of the human-caused global warming hypothesis because it suited them to do so. Public opinion will soon demand an explanation as to why experienced editors and hardened investigative journalists, worldwide, have melted before the blowtorch of self-induced guilt, political correctness and special interest expediency that marks the sophisms of global warming alarmists.
