"The Property of Bevcon Mines Limited, including a recently acquired adjoining south group, occupies an area of 2,625 acres in northeast Louvicourt township, Abitibi county, Quebec. It is situated 17 miles east of Val d'Or at the junction of provincial highways 58 and 59.Gold was first discovered in the area in 1931 by the late S. B. Jowsey on the present property of Buffaddison Gold Mines adjoining to the west. However, it was not until the winter of 1944-45 that diamond drilling encountered encouraging results on the Bevcon claims. During the period 1946-1948 a shaft was sunk to 1,000 feet and considerable development undertaken from the 500-foot to the 1,000-foot levels. Between 1947 and 1950 approximately 24,000 tons of dump ore and 48,000 tons of ore by stoping were milled at Perron Gold Mines. The favourable results of these tests prompted the decision to construct a milling plant at Bevcon. The mill began operating in July 1952, and presently has a capacity of 800 tons per day. In 1953 the shaft was deepened to 1,600 feet and is currently (1955) being driven to 2,225 feet.Total production of gold to the end of 1954 has been 101,024 ounces from the milling of 697,427 tons of ore of an average grade of 0·163 ounces per ton.GeologyThe Bevcon orebodies occur in a granodiorite stock which has an east-west length of approximately 4 miles and a maximum width of 1 1/2 miles. The property covers the central portion of the stock and its contacts with the Keewatin volcanics. Approximately one-third of the northern contact and one-half of the southern contact are contained within the Bevcon claims. The granodiorite has been cut by acid (feldspar porphyry) and basic dykes trending east-west. A younger diabase dyke, 300 feet wide, strikes northeasterly across the property 1,000 feet east of the shaft.The main ore zone, striking east-west, lies between the more northerly porphyry dyke and the north granodiorite-greenstone contact. It has been extensively sheared, fractured, altered, and mineralized by gold-bearing solutions. It is approximately 2,000 feet Jong from the west boundary towards the diabase dyke. The shaft is centrally located and passes through the south contact of the ore zone at the 500-foot level. The zone increases in width and trends northerly with depth, due to the porphyry and greenstone contacts having average dips of 80 degrees and 70 degrees respectively to the north. Thus on the uppermost or 500-foot level the width is 150 to 200 feet, and at the present bottom level at 1,600 feet the width is 400 to 500 feet.Another gold-bearing zone has been indicated 200 to 400 feet south of the main ore zone by limited surface drilling."

Based on a statistical analysis of the categorical and numerical data from the established geological model, a geochemical classification of mineralization has been shown to be objective in nature and correlated to the envisioned metal extraction process. Multivariate chemical classification has the potential to discriminate within a combined response from different types of alteration and metal abundances. Distinct domains of chemical response determined by clustering analysis were used as a validating criterion for a geologically driven metallurgical testing program. The groups established are spatially linked to the geological process responsible for their genesis, providing clarity in geometallurgical and resource modeling.

The deformation and recrystallisation of magnesium yttrium alloys containing 0.23, 0.84 and 2.71wt% yttrium and commercially pure magnesium extrusion has been investigated at temperatures between 200 and 350°C. The alloys were produced as billets 7.5 cm diameter, solution treated at 525 °C for 8 h and extruded into 3 cm diameter bar at 390°C. Channel die compression was employed to deform the samples at a strain rate of 1x10-3s-1. For the 0.23 wt% yttrium alloy and the pure magnesium, dynamic recrystallization (DRX) occurred at all temperatures and the amount of DRX increased as the temperature was raised. In the alloys containing 0.84 and 2.71 wt% yttrium DRX was almost completely suppressed at all temperatures. The absence of DRX in the 0.84 and 2.71 wt% yttrium alloys was accompanied by a decrease in the ductility, except at 350°C the highest deformation temperature. It was observed that this increase in ductility was accompanied by a reduction in deformation twinning and the initiation of pyramidal slip. This work highlights the important role that DRX plays in enhancing the ductility of magnesium alloys.

"AngloAmerican used the extractant M5640 at Mantos Blancos and Mantoverde and uses PT5050MD at Los Bronces Division, which are aldoxime and modifier blends. In the first case, the modifier is the esther TXIB, while in the second case is the tridecanol TDA. It is a well-known fact that the extractant degrades while the modifier does not and with time the oxime/modifier ratio can change significantly, depending on the operating conditions of each plant.In order to evaluate the effect of this varying modifier content in the plant organic, especially in the organic losses, a complete metallurgical test work program was conducted at laboratory and pilot plant scale by Flomin SNF, a new extractant supplier. Results showed that the addition of an aldoxime without the modifier did not affect the chemical performance of the extractant, but there was a significant decrease in the viscosity and density of the organic.Based on the results obtained in the metallurgical program, it was decided to run plant scale tests at the SX plants of Mantos Blancos and Mantoverde. In these tests, instead of adding extractant to maintain the organic inventory, CuPROMEX 3406 which is an unmodified aldoxime was added until the original oxime/modifier ratio was reached. This was obtained after 6 months of operation and since then both plants are running with the extractant CuPROMEX 3302 both supplied by Flomin SNF.In the case of Los Bronces, the pilot plant work was completed and it is programmed to run similar plant scale tests. In this case, the oxime/modifier ratio increased and TDA will be added until reaching the original ratio.The plant results obtained at Mantoverde and Mantos Blancos, together with the pilot plant test results obtained at Los Bronces, are discussed in this paper."

The study on the material properties of frozen soils in China was being developed quickly in the past decades of years, because of the increase of the engineering constructed in frozen soil regions on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, and numerous research results were achieved mainly about strength and deformation behaviour and constitutive models of frozen soils. Studies have shown that the deformation procedure of frozen soils is irreversible; therefore, it is more appropriate to research mechanical properties of frozen soils by means of damage mechanics theory. In this paper, an elasto-viscoplastic anisotropic damage model is presented by introduction of Perzyna viscoplastic equation into analyzing the deformation of frozen soil. In addition, an anisotropic damage evolution equation is obtained by means of extending non-viscous damage to viscous damage. Triaxial tests at different strain rates are chosen to illustrate the application of this model, and good agreement between experimental data and numerically simulated results is obtained. The calculated results indicate that, under the same conditions, the damage at higher strain rate is less than that at low one. So the phenomena are explained from damage mechanics that the frozen soil has larger elastic modulus and shear strength at higher strain rates, and explained from mechanism that the emergence and development of micro-cracks in the body of frozen soil can be to some extent retarded at higher strain rates.

Abstract - The Okinawa trough is an active back-arc-spreading center in which submarine hydrothermal exhalation (black chimneys) and sulfide mineralization are forming. Fluid inclusion composition in minerals of the hydrothermal feeder zones in the JADE field shows that the hydrothermal systems are extremely gas-rich. There are two independent and co-existing fluids, CO2-hydrocarbon and saline fluids. Microthermometry and Laser Raman Microprobe (LRM) analyses on individual fluid inclusions of the CO2-hydrocarbon type, dominated by CO2 and containing minor CH4, C2H4, C2H6, N2 and H2S, are almost equivalent to the fluid inclusion composition of a natural gas field. The saline fluid is mainly composed of H2O and contains minor Na+ and K+. It is close to a H2O-NaCl, or H2O-NaCl-KCl system, with salinities from 3.7% to 7.5% NaCl eq. Before venting on the seafloor, the fluids experienced immiscible separation. One of the end-member fluids is downward circulating seawater that interacted with sub-seafloor rocks. The other was gas (volatile)-rich fluid derived from a shallow magma chamber. The immiscibility separation of fluids resulted from the decrease of temperature and pressure of the hydrothermal system and continuous input of magmatic volatiles. The saline fluids in this system are discharging to form sulfide chimneys and black smoke. Meanwhile, CO2-rich fluid discharges as CO2 bubbles through hydrate pipes. A large amount of CO2-CH4-H2S gas or fluid in the upper part of the hydrothermal system, and reaction of this gas or fluid with saline fluids, finally enables the accumulation of metal sulfides.

The level of Si and Cu in the 3xx series of alloys affects the volume fraction of the a-Al dendritic phase and the Al-Si eutectic phase. The volume fraction of these phases in turn affects the feeding conditions during solidification and ultimately the Area Fraction Porosity and Mean Pore Diameter measured in the as-cast structure. This work sets out to establish the relationship between the volume fraction of the a-Al dendritic phase and the Al-Si eutectic phase and the resulting porosity that forms on the Monotonic and High Cycle Fatigue properties. The alloys in question are the Al-9%Si-l %Cu and a Al-7%Si-4%Cu alloys which were cast into V8 performance engine block castings and then heat treated to achieve desired mechanical properties. The engine block castings provided the mechanical and metallographic test samples analyzed for this work.

"Abstract - Bedding-parallel thrust-hosted gold veins are developed in the Sabie-Pilgrim's Rest goldfield, eastern Transvaal, South Africa. The reefs display a complex history characterized by temporally and spatially overlapping events of similar mineralization and deformation. Recognition of the episodic reactivation of these low angle (5° to 10°) thrust faults implicates high fluid pressures (equalling or exceeding lithostatic pressures). Geochemical constraints limit the amount of fluid-rock interaction and the occurrence of transgressive mineralization within the Archaean granitoid basement suggests that the high pressure fluids originated at depth beneath the Transvaal Basin.Similarities exist between gold deposits of Sabie-Pilgrim's Rest and Telfer, Western Australia as well as Passagem de Mariana, Minas Gerais, Brazil. All deposits are sub-parallel to the enclosing bedding which is shallowly inclined. Furthermore, they are also hosted by contractional deformational structures and are clearly epigenetic in origin."

In this study, 3.1 mm thick Ti-5553 (Ti-5Al-5V-5Mo-3Cr) butt joints were autogenously welded using a 4 kW continuous wave Nd:YAG laser. The effect of welding speed and defocusing distance on the weld quality was investigated in terms of the surface morphology, welding defects, microstructure and hardness. Welds with full penetration were achieved at a defocusing distance ranging from -1 mm to 0 mm and welding speeds from 2.25 to 6.0 m/min. Underfill and porosity were the two main defects most frequently observed but within the optimum process window these defects could be maintained to meet aerospace specification tolerances. The fusion zone (FZ) consisted entirely of retained beta with a refined dendritic morphology. Compared to the bimodal alpha (a) + beta (ß) microstructure of the base metal (BM), the dissolution of the a phase was observed in the heat affected zone (HAZ), which led to an 11 % decrease in hardness from the BM to the FZ. To determine the tensile properties of the welded samples, an automated 3D deformation measurement system was used to measure the local strain in the weld region. The yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) increased with increasing welding speed with a highest joint efficiency of 75 % being achieved, albeit with a concomitant reduction in the ductility.

THE HYDRAULIC TRANSPORT of solids is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the world. Major long-distance slurry pipelines currently in operation transport commodities such as coal and various ore concentrates distances of up to hundreds of miles. In the United States, a number of large-diameter, high-tonnage pipelines are under consideration for the transport of Western Plains coal to markets up to 1000 miles away. In these and other applications, the solids are generally quite fine, with 14 mesh being a typical limit of particle size for long-distance (over 100 miles) slurry transport. There are applications where it might be practical to transport solids consisting of larger particles distances of up t o 100 miles. Deposits of high-quality metallurgical coal are found in the inner foothills belt along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains on the Alberta-B. C. border. There are few existing railroad s and the possibilities of constructing extensions are limited because of environmental and economic factor s. In these circumstances, the most efficient transportation system might consist of a pipeline to transport the coal from the mine to beneficiation plants located near existing railroads 50 or 100 miles away. Such systems would minimize environmental effects, capital cost s and operating costs. To determine whether such a system would be technically feasible, experimental testing is needed to determine the energy requirements for transporting coarse coal in a pipe line. Currently, run-of-mine metallurgical coal is crushed to less than 1 1/2 inches before going to the beneficiation plant. In the proposed scheme, coal of this size would be transported through a pipeline to the beneficiation plant located at the railroad. The Transportation Development Agency and the Department of Supply and Services have awarded a contract to the Saskatchewan Research Council to study pipelining of coarse coal in pipelines ranging from 4 inches to 12 inches in diameter.

Ageing tests on a crushed Cu-porphyry ore were conducted to assess the impact of sample oxidation on flotation performance. The objective of the testwork was to simulate ageing of ore that would be blasted through block caving but not milled for possibly several months. Ageing was performed in specially designed columns, using site and deionised water to keep the samples moist over the entire ageing period. Samples from each ageing interval (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 8 months) were examined for physical and metallurgical changes resulting from the ageing process through chemical analyses, size analyses, and batch flotation tests.

Abstract-Most large skarn deposits are zoned in both space and time relative to associated intrusions. Zonation occurs on scales from kilometers to micrometers, and reflects infiltrative fluid flow, wallrock reaction, temperature variations, and fluid mixing. The most spectacular examples of skarn zonation usually occur at the skarn-marble contact, where transitions between monomineralic bands can be knife sharp. Other small-scale examples occur in zoned veins and individual mineral crystals. Although, visually striking and scientifically interesting, in mineral exploration these small-scale variations are less useful than deposit- or district-scale zonation. In most skarn systems there is a general zonation pattern of proximal garnet, distal pyroxene, and vesuvianite (or a pyroxenoid such as wollastonite, bustamite, or rhodonite) at the marble front. As well, individual skarn minerals may display systematic color or compositional variations within the larger zonation pattern. Such patterns are reviewed for 14 well-studied examples of Cu, W, Sn, Au, and Zn-Pb skarns. In addition, many deposits have endoskarn or other alteration of the associated intrusion, and recrystallization or other subtle changes have occurred in the surrounding wallrocks. Copper skarns, such as Mines Gaspé in Quebec and Big Gossan in Irian Jaya, have high ratios of garnet:pyroxene and are zoned outward from the intrusion, to garnet, to pyroxene, to massive-sulfide replacement and vein deposits. Garnets in Cu skarn are Fe-rich and change from dark red-brown near the intrusive contact to paler brown, green, or yellow in distal locations. Pyroxenes in Cu skarns are pale and diopsidic near the intrusion, and become darker and more Fe- and Mn-rich away from the intrusion. Tungsten skarns, such as Salau and Costabonne in France and Pine Creek and Garnet Dike in California, have intermediate ratios of garnet:pyroxene, are more extensive vertically and along strike than perpendicular to the intrusive contact, and have zonation patterns commonly complicated by overprinting of metamorphic lithologies. In W skarns, garnet is commonly subcalcic and the pyroxene is Fe-rich, reflecting particularly reducing wallrocks or great depth of formation. Tin skarns, such as Dachang in China and Moina in Australia, also can have subcalcic garnet and Fe-rich pyroxene, but this reduced mineral assemblage typically is due to an association with reduced S-type granites. Tin skarns differ from most other skarn types in having a late greisen stage that may replace earlier Sn-bearing calc-silicate minerals, thus liberating Sn to form cassiterite. Many high-grade Au skarns, such as Hedley in British Columbia and Fortitude in Nevada, have low ratios of garnet:pyroxene and are associated both with reduced plutons and reduced wallrocks. Goldrich zones occur in Fe-rich, pyroxene-dominant, distal skarn. Zn-Pb skarns, such as the Yeonhwa- Ulchin district in Korea and Groundhog in New Mexico, have low ratios of garnet:pyroxene and generally form distal to associated intrusions. These skarns also are zoned from proximal garnet to distal pyroxene and pyroxenoid (bustamite-rhodonite), with significant zones of massive sulfides within and beyond skarn. Manganese enrichment of most mineral phases, particularly pyroxene, is characteristic of distal zones. Fundamental controls on skarn zonation include temperature, depth of formation, composition and oxidation state of associated plutons and wallrocks, and tectonic setting. Most W skarns form at relatively great depth, 5 km to 20 km, with extensive high-temperature metamorphic and metasomatic mineral assemblages. In contrast, most other skarn types are relatively shallow, <10 km and mostly <5 km, with limited, lower temperature metamorphic aureoles. "Geerite (Cu1.6S) is a rhombohedral copper sulphide which occurs naturally in epitactic replacement of sphalerite; cell dimensions closely approximate those of the host sphalerite.Geerite-type structures can be produced by leaching digenite (Cu1.8S) in ferric sulphate solutions. X -ray diffract ion and electron microprobe studies indicate that eight metastable geeritetype structures can be produced, depending upon the concentration of f erric sulphate solution used and the duration of the each. Although compositions cluster on or near values observed for natural phases, optical properties indicate that we are dealing with polymorphs of these phases. Leaching of chalcocite (CU2Sj in dilute f erric sulphate solutions produces similar results. In contrast, leaching of chalcocite in more concentrated solutions seems to produce true analogues of natural minerals.During froth flotation, sphalerite is activated with a monolayer of floatable copper sulphide with the composition, CuS, of the mineral covellite. However, covellite is not significantly more floatable than sphalerite, and has an incompatible structure because of the presence of covalently-bonded atoms of sulphur. Leaching ofdigenite was used to produce a polymorph of covellite with a geerite-type structure, compatible with that of sphalerite. This polymorph has a flotational behaviour similar to copper-activated sphalerite, suggesting that the monolayer has a geerite-type CuS structure. IntroductionIn an ideal close-packed sulphide structure the distance between sulphur layers, D, is equal to 2R 2/3, where R is the radius of the sulphur atoms. In sulphides with covalently-bonded sulphur layers, such as covellite (Fig. I), D will be an average of the number of covalentl y-bonded and close-packed sulphur layers, weighted as to the relative number of each type of layer. Both D and R are spacings which are readily identifiable structurally and on X-ray diffraction patterns. Goblel has shown that for copper-iron sulphides with metal-to-sulphur ratios between 0 and 2 and copper-to-total metal ratio s between 113 and I there are strong correlations between composition and measured D and R distances (Fig. 2). D can be represented by a single empirical equation relating interlayer spacing to composition; R must be represented by three equations relating the radius of sulphur atoms to composition. One of these equations (R, in Fig. 2) represents ideal close-packed behaviour, the other two represent sulphur radii greater than (R1) or less than (Rh) the ideal."

The McArthur River deposit is a structurally-controlled unconformity-related uranium deposit. The mineralization is situated at the intersection of a pronounced fault zone, referred to as the P2 fault zone, and the unconformity between Paleoproterozoic Wollaston Group metasedimentary rock and Paleoproterozoic to Mesoproterozoic Athabasca Group. Mineralization is variably hosted within the Athabasca Group fault wedge and the faulted basement, consisting of twelve zones covering a strike length of 2,700 m. The main P2 fault zone consists of several reactivated foliation-parallel faults containing narrow seams of graphitic clay gouge that are separated by highly cleaved, graphitic wall rock. The mine grid east-dipping P2 fault zone is characterized by reverse offset of the unconformity surface. It varies from a single discrete fault to splay offsets consisting of two to three individual splays. The combined vertical offset along the P2 fault zone is a maximum of about 80 m. The fault has emplaced a wedge-shaped sequence of Wollaston Group metasedimentary rocks into the Athabasca Group. Foliation-oblique faults occur throughout the McArthur deposit trend. Steep east-northeast trending faults generally exhibit apparent oblique dextral sense of shear. Less common, and possibly conjugate, are steep faults trending east-southeast with an apparent sinistral sense of shear. Offsets are generally less than 10 m on these structures. South-trending and shallow west-dipping brittle faults with offsets less than 1 m are also observed while rare steep, north-trending faults are also noted locally and played a critical role in development of the Zone 2 basement-hosted mineralization.

Introduction The Sydney coal-field extends for a distance of thirty miles along the northeastern coast of Cape Breton island. At a central focal point at the tip of the south arm of Sydney harbour, seven miles or so in from the Atlantic ocean, is the city of Sydney, with Port Morien to the southeast and Sydney Mines to the north . Mining centres along the ocean coast between these points include Birchgrove, Reserve, Glace Bay, and Waterford. The field is divided into three districts or &apos;basins&apos;, namely, Morien basin to the south, Glace Bay in the centre, and the Lingan-Sydney Mines basin to the northeast. The eastern and western portions of the latter are known as the Lingan and the Sydney Mines basins, respectively. Six distinct coal seams are described as existing in the Morien basin, nine in the Glace Bay basin, and six in both the Lingan and the Sydney Mines basin. Although known by different names in the several basins, a definite continuity of the seams has been established.

The nickel-cobalt sulphides produced from limonitic laterite ores by Moa Nickel S.A. in Cuba are refined at the Corefco nickel-cobalt refinery in Canada. Significant economic implications are associated with the refining of precipitated sulphides containing elevated iron contents. The Moa Nickel S.A. operations encompass laterite mining, high pressure acid leaching (H PAL), and ultimately, precipitation of a mixed sulphide product. These processes are reviewed as they pertain to the control of iron and the formation of a mixed sulphide containing nominally 55% Ni, 5% Co and 1% Fe. The contributors to the iron content of the mixed sulphide product are reviewed; the major contributors are the HPAL operation and sulphide precipitation. The precipitation of iron during sulphide precipitation is influenced by the solution acidity, the iron and copper concentrations in the feed solution, and the presence of laterite leach solids. The significance of the copper concentration of the sulphide precipitation solutions is manifested by both physical and chemical modifications of the sulphide precipitates, presumably through the formation of fine copper sulfide seed particles.

"The leaching of sulphide minerals generates a significant amount of energy. There are three systems that might be used to remove this energy. These are: cooling coils, quench water, and flash recycle. Flash recycle is the recycling of slurry from the autoclave to the feed tank. Heat is removed in this arrangement when the slurry at elevated temperature and pressure is flashed to atmosphere, releasing steam. The slurry is returned to the autoclave at lower temperature, resulting in cooling. The cooling is directly proportional to the steam released from the recycled slurry. Design equations and results for the flash recycle system are presented. A fourth proposal for removing heat is to recycle slurry from the back of the autoclave. These four alternatives not only remove the heat, but also have an effect on the leaching efficiency. Amongst the four alternatives, design calculations indicate that the flash recycle option is the optimal solution in terms of leaching efficiency and heat removal, and recycling product from the back of the autoclave is the worst. In spite of its efficiency in terms of heat removal and leaching, the implementation of the flash recycle system is limited to a few operations in the platinum industry.INTRODUCTIONIn considering ways to improve leaching operations, focus is placed on the chemistry, on the kinetics, the agitation and perhaps even on the gas mass transfer conditions. Attention is less frequently placed on the removal of energy from these reactors and how this might limit performance.The pressure leaching of sulphides releases a significant amount of heat. We believe that it will remain so as long as there are economic cycles.The fortunes of the industry are tied to those sectors of the economy where decisions can be postponed until more favourable times: automobiles, housing, appliances, inventory building and capital spending. Over the past two years, while U.S. GNP fell by 3.8%, automobile production declined by 31 %, from 9.7 million units in 1973 to 6.7 million in 1975. Housing starts plummeted some 43% from 2.1 million units in 1973 to 1.2 million in 1975. The worse the recession, the better the subsequent recovery. If this is true, then the lot of the mining industry should improve significantly over the next two to three years."

Various techniques of dust sampling are discussed and analysed, and the parameters referred to above are classified as the basis for methods of assessing the physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of dust-particle suspensions. The paper surveys those methods of assessment currently accepted by various statutory authorities, and reviews other methods that warrant attention and newer techniques that are being developed."

This Notwithstanding all the debates on climate change and renewable energy, coal remains the world&apos;s no.1 primary energy source even in the 21st century. In 2011 alone, total output rose from 420 million t to around 6.6 billion t. Similar growth rates are also expected for the next few years. In order to meet demand, new seams are being tapped and others mined far more extensively. In most cases, this means a move from open-cast to deep mining, and extracting coal from ever greater depths. At the same time, extraction processes such as the room and pillar method are being replaced by longwall mining, which significantly increases seam yield and therefore output. The depth of extraction with new, modified mining methods is increasing rapidly around the world - in most countries, much more rapidly than the corresponding expertise. A trade in mining expertise has therefore developed alongside the coal trade proper. Germany relies on coal imports, but can export mining industry services and advanced mining equipment. Geological conditions in the Ruhr and Saar coalfields forced Germany to drive forward development of deep working for hard coal years ago. For 30 years now, Germany has been mining hard coal at depths of over 1,000 m, and excavation is now at depths up to 1,600 m. Deeper extraction and more extensive excavation posed new challenges for both miners and equipment. Intelligent logistics, modern roadway development methods and longwall mining with ploughs or shearers combined with optimised process coordination offered pioneering solutions - solutions to enable costeffective coal extraction in the long term without compromising safety. Countries such as Russia, the Ukraine, China and the Czech Republic, where extraction is now reaching similar depths, can now benefit from this experience: they do not need to go through the same process of trial and development, but can draw on Germany&apos;s findings and ultimately save on costs. Now, Germany is offering this knowledge and experience on the international market on a client- and deposit-specific basis to continue providing mining countries with safe and cost-effective coal mining solutions and secure the energy supply. The presentation gives a number of examples of how international mining companies have used expertise from Germany to better meet the challenges of deep mining.
